FOF2004 Demo Roster ?s

Will the roster set included in the demo be the one in the final product? If so, I think we should go figuring out which players are which so that when the final comes out, we'll be ready to put in the true rosters. I'll do the Texans.

I'll do them all...but how would I save them...and can I change the player's ratings and personality settings, etc?

Isn't it customary that someone usually already has a whole roster set when the game is released? We could figure it out, but the work might be redundant if a set has already been completed for release.

David Carr is Ellsworth Toohey? I haven't really looked, are there many other literary references?

Are there instructions anywhere for modifying the names currently in there?

On the individual player cards you just hit the "Change Name" button and then edit it...

Right now there is no point in changing the names because using the change name button only changes the names in your current career. Therefore if you started a new career the players names would be reset. The only way to permanentaly(sp?) change the names is to edit the players.dat file and until the player editor is released they can't be changed. However you could go in with note pad and change all of the names but I don't know if it would accept it. Best bet is just wait for the player editor.

I do think it is a good idea to come up with all the changes that need to be made just like bigdawg did with the texans.

We should be able to use a roster editor, but we'd need an updated version of the version on the historical society website.

The 'Links' section of the mainpage should probably be updated to show more current links, rather than EA sports and a college football game that was never released.

I don't underestand this, there are two facts:

1º Jim already has the real roosters as he admited to play with them.

2ª Jim can't release that real roosters with his game as he is not paying the NFL license.

But now just my thought, can't Jim send his real rooster file to any of his trusted betatesters (if they haven't it yet) and then any of them can upload that file to any website and release it as fan's custom made rooster file? This way Jim can't be sued and at same time we get the real roosters the same day than the game is released insted of waiting for somebody to edit all the player names.
As a newbie to the FOF series (i only own TCY) i don't know if this has been done before, of course Jim can't tell if this will be done, but mybe some of the older fof buyers can tell us the newbies if usually the real roosters are released at same time than the game.

(Mybe Bee already answered me with his post "I really don't think you guys will have to worry about this")

I think Primelord or someone did this for FOF4. I would have to believe this will be done again.

Well maybe Jim is waiting for the Cows to come home before he releases the roosters.

It is unfortunate what Jim had to do to the roosters for the demo release.

I wouldn't worry too much about the roster file with the actual player names. I think it will be taken care of pretty quickly. I would rather have a variety of gameplans worked on from now until release. Following the board members for a while lends me to believe that the rosters will be handled.

The real rosters were in the last beta tested diary entry? I saw the entry off the main page.

I remember Lewis Sinclair used to be a pretty good linebacker (I think he was Lavar Arrington in an earlier version).

In the song, "She'll Be Comin' 'Round The Mountain," why do they say that they'll kill the old red rooster when she comes??? You wouldn't want to eat an old red rooster!!! I think that they just HATE the old red rooster, and they're just using the fact that she's comin' 'round the mountain as an excuse to kill it.

Dola:

There's an FOF4 real players' roster file posted on the front page of this very site (www.sportplanet.com/fof). Primelord got it together for all of us. I'd imagine he'll do the same for FOF2K4.

Of course not. There just appeared to be a lot of back-and-forth speculation in this thread. Even your post said "or someone." I wanted to get something a little more definitive out there.
