Did I miss something? Just what did Favre do tonight that was so great? Green was their offense tonight, in a big way.
Can I breath now? Thank you Donovan!!! |

Not a Vikes fan, but the result doesn't surprise me. They ruined a great effort from Green tonight. On the other side of the coin, Green has to hold onto the ball better. He only lost one tonight, but it could have been two or three. That will just kill you in close games. TroyF |

Don't forget, the only reason McNabb plays in the pro bowl is because he's black!

Another fine job of announcing the game from the boys in the booth too.
Al Michaels thinks it's stupid to call your last time out with 1 minute left and a first and 10 from the 13. He thought they should have spiked the ball. Umm, Al, there is PLENTY of time with a minute left. The last thing you want to do there is give up a down. You'll be throwing the ball at least 3 of the 4 downs anyway, the clock will stop if you fail. I told my roommate that I'd come out of the time-out with a QB draw and then throw for the end zone. I figured at worst the Eagles would then be left with a 3rd and 5 with about 30 seconds left and the clock stopped. This is clock management in its simplest form. You'd think with as many games these guys have called (let alone coached) they'd be able to figure this out. TroyF |

Ya, missed FG by Longwell, a defense that collapsed at the end, a great defensive play by Wayne for Philly, some Green fumbles early on, Driver not catching a ball that should have been caught deep....yup, sounds like its all Favres fault....... .....a loss is never the fault of one guy....NEVER.

Driver had a horrible night. The defense of Green Bay was. . . well, the defense of Green Bay.
That was a tough kick for Longwell. 45 yards in those conditions isn't easy. As good of a night as Green had, he had a key fumble as well. TroyF |

I have said this before, and I will say it again. The single thing that pisses me off in the world of sports more than any other thing is when coaches call horseshit fucking conservative prevent-from-winning defense at the end of the game, especially one in which the defense has given up 10 points so far. 7 of those came after a DB fell down. My grandma could have gotten from midfield to the 10 on three plays with that crap. What goes through a coach's mind in situations like this?
"Gee, they need to go 50 yards in two minutes, so let's drop our six DBs and one LB 10 to 20 yards off the ball and giftwrap them 10-15 a pop so they don't burn us for 50 yards on one play. Yeah, that will work. I'm so smart." Don't even get me started on coaches who line their DBs up eight yards off the line on 3rd-and-6. Are you listening Barry Alvarez? |

Well said, Craptacular. There's a time and place for the Prevent Defense. This was not one of them. The Eagles hadn't earned much yardage all night, why suddenly give it to them?
Of course, it may have worked out if Al Harris and Bhawoh Jue hadn't played like, well, like me. They were embarrassingly bad. |

i couldn't agree more. you dominate the game defensively with pressure, then lay back and let mcnabb bring it to you in the final minutes. makes absolutely no sense. but i was surprised at how well the gb defense played. not sure if it was their skill or philly's lack of it. |
