FOF2k4 Backgrounds

Anyone made any backgrounds for the game, or planning to?

I know with resource hacker, you can add in your own bitmaps into the background. A little tedious, but it still works. I just got a BS one from a website and threw it in the background.

Here it is.

its # 284 and 285 in the bitmap folder.

Easy Mac...is this "resource hacker" a program of some kind? If so, do you know where I can get it?

I am so displeased with the default background I'll fork out a pretty penny to change it.

Here's a general NFL one I made.

edit: how do you get this to show up automatically instead of an attachment?

I'm going to do a Rams one when the full version of the game comes out.

The reshacker program is on Dutch's site (I think it's Dutch). Look up his name on the members list and there's a link to his site.

That picture is very interesting because with FOF4 there was a little distorition that forced unwanted breaks/lines in the background. What is the resolution of that background bmp?

Heh. Good catch. Forgot that option was in there. (There are probably over a hundred little things that can be changed in the vbulletin control panel.)

Here is the one I made for FOF4, so I'll have to update it. The Bo Jackson commemorative background.

These are cool.

SkyDog, any chance we could have an FOF mods forum or graphics forum for stuff like this?

Maybe have a background thread or a logos thread.

Just an idea.

I agree, but we need also more help from Jim to be able to customize the game, by now we can only use the exe hacker to mod some backgrounds and icons.

Yabanci,

I really like the Rams one, thanks!!

Yes, I would love to have a mods/graphics forum. Sure, there's not much we can do to FOF, but Jim's starting to make FOF a little more mod friendly.

The problem with making backgrounds for FOF2004 is for some reason there is now a band of black across the bottom and down the left edge of the screen. This wasn't there in FOF4. So black backgrounds look okay, but other colors show the black band.

Here is an example.

You might consider displaying these attachments as thumbnails in some cases, like here with the large wallpaper. I believe I've seen this done in other forums.

This would have been nice when I was attaching all of my helmet images before I had somewhere to put them

the game resizes and distorts any background image you load, as far as i can tell. it was the same with fof 4. i think i have an image size that gets rid of any black bands. i'll post as soon as i confirm it.

on another front, can reshacker be used to tell the game how to resize an image, or to specify how the game points to image maps in the scoreboard, for example? that would be extremely useful for mods.

I really wish Jim would make the background image replaceable as it was in FOF2001. it would make everyone's life a lot easier.
