FOFC: How do you think you compare to the other members ?

With FOF2004 just around the corner, and its multiplayer capacities, I'm left to wonder:

Where would you rank yourself in the FOFC pecking order of "Best FOF gamers" ?

Do you think you are a Top 5, Top10, Top50 player on this forum ?
would you rank yourself at the bottom of the pile because you KNOW you are BAD ?

I'm curious to read how everyone feels about his own knowledge of the game and where you would rank yourself among the others based on everything you know/read about their FOF experiences and discussions...

I understand some may think that my question is useless, however, since I am very competitive in everything I do, I can't help but trying to figure out where everyone would rank if there was a "FOFC Championship"

I think FOF2 was the best of the series, but I'm stoked about FOF2K4.

Football ranks about to be my 3rd favorite sport so compared to some of the Goliath's here, I'd place myself in the bottom half.

One of the last.

To give you a rough idea :

in the FOFC Hattrick rankings, I 'm currently ranked 90 something out of 128.

In the IWS games, I usually rank in the lowest third.

I couldn't even get in the Euro FOFC Fantasy Football league, I ended up 1st on the waiting list...

I don't even try and solve QuikSand's puzzles, because I might burst a blood vessel...

That's how bad I am... I just plain suck...

As Beck would say it, "I 'm loser babe..."

LOL
I'm only talking about the FOF games, where you rank yourself in FOF, and only FOF :-)

I have no clue. I'm a competitive S.O.B. too though, and I'd like to think I'm a very good player, which is why I'm looking forward to competing against others around here.

I probably am the worst FOF player out of anyone that has owned 4 FOF games and TCY.

I tend to focus more of my energy being good at baseball games, and in the past FOF playing was more of a recreational thing I did on sundays while watching the NFL I guess

Somewhere in the top half maybe. I love challenges and have managed to succeed in FOF2K1 under some fairly strict houserules.

Not that you would know it in my latest dynasty. Yikes.

My whole concious life has been directed towards football.
I knew every NFL team visually by three years old.
Began playing competetive football at four.
I am third in all time rushing for ages 5-13 in our hometown, who has been keeping records since 1926.
By the time I was a freshman in high school, I was more experiened with actually years playing, than any senior.
It is my life, it is my love, it is my passion.

I expect to be fall somewhere in the lower third, but ahead of HornFrogPurple. So, 31st.

I consider myself damn good at TCY (I think I finished 3rd in the TCY Challenge that DevaneyFan threw a year or so ago), but I haven't really gotten a good handle on FOF yet. In the IHOF, I'm expecting to finish in the middle of the pack, at least at the beginning.

I'd say middle of the pack (for both FOF and TCY). I use pretty much the same strategies most people describe, but no way I know as many nuances to the game as many of you do. I just don't have as much time to play as I'd like.

I will say I feel I am clearly a better TCY player than FOF. I have played many, many more TCY dynasties and always get my team to be a national title contender within 5-10 years.

I think my results in the IHOF will depend on everyone else forgeting they are playing multiplayer and stick to the usual self-imposed House Rules.

I can create offensive game plans but my defensive stuff with either break you in the first half or result in a blowout when for anyone I play. I'm in the top rankings...

LOL, call it competing if you want.

In 2k1 I could dominate, but usually because of managing against a less than stellar AI and knowing some insider tricks on draft day.

Against human opponents, I think I would be in trouble. I don't understand how to make general football strategy translate into percentages and tendencies. Nor do I understand the ratios of how often to do what. I'm a situation by situation strategist, not a percentage/proportion guy. This is frustrating in the FOF engine, but a challenge I'm looking forward to in this next edition. Against the pros like Marmel, Kickstand, etc,...Methinks I would sucketh.

Interesting question. Hard to know the answer. Having never played FOF in a multi-player environment, who knows?

I do have a 3-2 record in Super Bowls in 22 seasons with the Lions in FOF4. Wall Street level.

Will be fun.

At first, I dismissed this as a pretty silly question. But now I'm going through the demo, looking around at things I've chosen to ignore, usually as house rules, and I realize that in order to be competitive, you're going to have to be aware of EVERY aspect of the game. Most of us, who play with house rules, might have some trouble adjusting.

To answer your question, though...I have no idea! I'd like to think I'll be able to field a team that has a shot at winning once in a while, but I figure that in my league, pretty much everyone will have the same skill level, and most of it will come to luck.
