The 2004 Golden Scribes: The nomination phase begins!

From now through the end of November will be your chance to nominate your favorite dynasties for one of the highly-coveted (

) Golden Scribe awards. For each category, you may nominate up to 3 different dynasties to be a finalist in the category. There is no need to rank your nominees, as each vote will count the same. After the conclusion of the nomination phase, the top 5 vote-getters in each category will become finalists, and a second vote will be held to determine the winner among the finalists. In the event of a tie for fifth-place, the number of finalists may be increased or decreased as necessary. For example, if 4 dynasties in a category receive multiple nomination votes, and 10 others each receive one vote, then we will go with just the 4 dynasties as finalists in that category. In the event of a tie, a poll may be used to determine who gets to be a finalist. I reserve the right to make a final decision if things become too complicated to resolve with a poll.

As stated above, you can nominate up to 3 dynasties in each category. Please send your nominations to [email protected] (me) and [email protected] (klayman, the Golden Scribes' independent auditor). In the email, please list your FOFC handle, so that we can be sure there is no Chicago-style ballot box stuffing.

You will be nominating up to 3 finalists in each of the following categories. Feel free to leave categories blank if you have no opinion as to who should be a finalist.

1. Best College Football dynasty (can include TCY and non-TCY dynasties)

2. TCY Dynasty of the Year (only TCY dynasties are eligible)

3. Best Professional Football dynasty (can include FOF and non-FOF dynasties)

4. FOF Dynasty of the Year (only FOF dynasties are eligible)

5. Baseball Dynasty of the Year

6. Basketball Dynasty of the Year

7. Hattrick Dynasty of the Year

8. Soccer Dynasty of the Year

9. "Other Sport" Dynasty of the Year (includes any sport that does not have its own category)

10. Epic Dynasty of the Year (this includes sci-fi, historical, and other fictional dynasties that deal with Epic storylines)

11. Interactive Dynasty of the Year (includes all dynasties that have reader participation)

12. Island of Misfits Dynasty of the Year (This is a catch-all category for dynasties that don't fit into other categories)

13. Add-On Utility of the Year

14. Best Visual Representation in a Dynasty

15. Groundbreaker of the Year (for the dynasty that innovated the most to push the envelope on the dynasties page)

16. Dynasty-Posting Rookie of the Year (only people who started posting dynasties in 2003 are eligible)

17. Dynasty Poster of the Year (include all of the dynasties that a given poster has written during 2003 when considering this category)

18. Dynasty of the Year

19. Greatest Dynasty of All Time

20. The QuikSand Lifetime Achievement Award (named for QuikSand, the recipient of the first Lifetime Achievement Award - given to the poster who has added the most to the dynasty board over the years) EDIT: Just to clarify, QuikSand is ineligible for this award, since he won it last year.

Just as a clarification on the Lifetime Achievement Award, that is an award that can only be won once by each poster. So QuikSand is ineligible to be nominated this year, since he already won it last year.

I only did about 7 categories and not even 3 in all of them (hattrick, I could have nominated double what I did since that's what I know best) but at least it's some input. BTW, If it helps anyone to remember, sort out the category by post counts and views and you'll remember a lot of dynasties you had forgotten.
