Casting Couch for FOFcers
As many.... some... a few .... HFP know, I am about to unleash upon the world my text sim. The past month I have employed four specialized programmers to help tighten the code of my eChoice Wrestling sim game.
For those who want to know what it is - the goal is to have every extinct and current federation importable into a game where you can jump back and forth between them. You can make dream matches, or start your own eFed community. All kinds of stats, and all printable or easily saved to your hard drive. It is better than most of the ones that are successful out there at the moment. Since I have been here so long, and have the misfortune to like most of you, I had an idea that a few of you might enjoy being a part of. The game starts with a default set of about 100 or so wrestlers, all fictional. If you would like to be a part of this, here is what I want you to do. Send me a picture of your most wrestler like pose, and the name you want to associate with it. Even though HornedFrogPurple is a great FOFC name, it really does not go well with a wrestling name. So, send me a pic with the name you want - along with a few lines giving me permission to use them in an email to EMAIL . I will need them by December 12. Thx.

I nominate Cringer, with the pic from the "What do you look like" thread. I STILL have nightmares.
Of course this would be up to him.

Damn. I really don't have any good wrestling poses, but I'd love to be known as Cam "The Killer Conservative" Edwards.

I've always thought that it would be cool to have a wrestler named Mynez.

The game was an idea that a few of my friends had one night when we were thinking back on being young. The topic landed on our days watching World Class Championship Wrestling. I wondered why no game ever was made surrounding this environment. Somewhere along the way, we decided to do it ourselves. Many, many hours later we had made what we thought was a pretty good game. But I thought we were limiting ourselves, and why not go for something pretty cool. So I hired one programmer, and then it turned into four to shore up some of the issues that was beyond my expertise.
What we have come close to completing (at least during our beta phase) is a wrestling game that is highly customizable and generally a pretty good time. You can create your own federations of different eras, size, and scope, for any years - bring in guys when you want, have them leave when you want. One thing I wanted was the ability to tailor the game in the way I wanted, from the moves used, to the comments spoken. One guy who has no official part of the game is making federations while I type this, so when the game comes out, I suspect several feds will be ready for easy import. The game is a version 1 - so it will not have all the bells and whistles that I want. But if I can recoup the money I have invested in it, then to me it will be worth it to continue the upgrades. You have a federation. You have pictures (multiple that can rotate randomly when the wrestler is called) A card belt matches - tv title, lumberjack, state, american, world time clock stats out the yazoo! - you can look at any match, at any year, and print or save the data you have a running report of wins and losses per wrestler you have a bio page with each wrestler with his career highlights including injuries and belt titles you have prematch comments from the main event you have 2 out 3 fall State Title Matches you have DQ's from opposing stables and heels History of all belt matches and ability to pull them up for review, printing, or download Current injury board with special comments retirements with special comments don't like the card for the night? ability to change the card to whomever you want to see wrestle In game announcers that adhere to the fed with refs Quick Fight ability - for those who are impatient Season Skip - for those who are REALLY impatient I hope to have the website go live pretty quickly. I know that alot of people are really into efeds and this first version seems to fit alot of request those people have. Just a comment that I know alot of people will ask: Are the matches pre-determined? - NO. Each wrestler has multiple ratings that determine outcome and choice of moves. There is an upset rating that keeps things exciting as well. The unknown makes it really alot of fun. I still find things all the time that surprise me.

but I am the first fanboy. I AM!!! I AM!!!! ME!!!
I don't know if they are still in there but the wrestlers have their trademark comments and you can use the music they used to enter the ring with. (right Senator?) There are also a lot of different matches you can have. He picked my feeble brain for some of them like loser loses hair and strap matches and stuff.
