Ping: All you Syracuse alumni - Rutgers whooped your ass

Very nice end the year, and the team is clearly on the rise.

Brian Leonard is going to be a force to be reckoned with for a few more years.

Honestly, thank you!

That should be the final nail in the coffin for Coach P. He had some nice years, but the total lack of success in recruiting the last 4 years has finally caught up with him. The team has needed to go in a new direction since last year, and this loss should finally convince the AD to can Coach P.

Plus, it is just football man. We are a hoops school. (OK, maybe Lacrosse actually)

SU's legacy has been in football, you know that Marm. Hoops is only a relatively recent phenomenon going back to the 1970s. Lacrosse goes back a ways so that's cool. I believe that football brings in far more money than hoops can ever dream but it will be good to get SU football back on track again.

Despite some poor coaching decisions the second half of this season, only now have I begun to believe that Schiano is actually turning the program around. We were in every game this year, and easily could have been 7-5 instead of 5-7. With the rising level of talent, the emergence of a few key players, and a soon to be watered-down Big East... I see good things in the very near future.

I think we will see Rutgers in a bowl game next year.

Our victories are so few and far between that I needed to rub it in.

Agreed that we should have beaten UConn and BC to go 7-5.

Also agree that we should be a lock for a bowl game next year. Have you seen our schedule? If we don't make one, Schiano should be fired.

All in all, I gauge it as a successful season, because, besides for the Miami game, I left each game dissapointed that we didn't win, as we had a great chance to. Haven't been able to say that for a while...

To all Syracuse fans:

Thank you for Carmello Anthony. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

You are now forgiven for Danny Schayes.

That is all.

The only thing wrong with Carmelo is that he is not a sophomore.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Rutgers will do in the Sun Carnival Basketball tournament at UTEP. Hopefully they'll win their first game and then the Miners can give em a whoopin'...

Feel free to pummel is in all other sports, I could care less. Football is the only sport worth talking about.

To temper your enthusiasm a bit cthomer.

Rutgers' prestige is still on a level that fans of a program this is nowhere, and is apparently headed nowhere, consider a loss to them humiliating.

As long as P-brain gets fired I'm happy. He has singlehandedly (ok with some help from Jake the snake) destroyed the program with his luck of recruiting and trying to bring expectations down to .500 seasons being acceptable.

I just like to remind my fellow alumnists of the last time Rutgers won 5 games in a season (my sophomore year - 1999, IIRC), the next year we won ONE game total. Until we can put together two straight years of winning over 3 games in a season, I won't be holding my breath.

(PS, we should still be a Division 1-AA team... Rutgers 1000 baby! )
