CM Newbie

Went to SI games site to check on info for EHM and ended downloading the Demo for CM 03/04 . Well the bastards got me hooked and I just ordered . Problem is I dont know the first thing about English Footy. I understand the game as I have played my whole life but not the rules of the leagues, transfers, basics of management etc....

Has anyone ever put together anything for us stupid americans to understand the leagues, rules etc......

If the new EHM is anything like this we are in for a real treat.

Thanks

Here is SI games download page: http://www.sigames.com/downloads_vie...=num_downloads

I would read Marc Vaughan's hints and tips guides. I would also download the ultimate league guide. I don't think it has been updated since CM3, but most of the info is still current. It gives a lot of different info about promotions, tournaments, and other league rules.

there's lots of good help files on the SI site, the ones by Mark Vaughn in particular. While they are for the earlier versions, the parts that apply to football in gerneral are very useful. I recommend downloading and reading these, and just diving into the game. I learned 01/02 that way, and when FOF wears off, I'll likely pick up 03/04 the same way.

The game does warn you about transfer deadlines approaching, but only one week notice, which is not much good, I've found. Basically playing and reading posts at SI and the Dugout (another site) is the best way to learn the game.

Apart from reading the great Vaughn guide, ask here whatever you need, i'm a CM fan since the Italia year 94 version
Also read at the SI forums, there are tons of info there.

Just so you're aware - I've started updating my guide for CM03-04 (its currently aimed at CM4 - but is still largely relevant to the new version).

If you have any specific questions then as always feel free to post/mail me and ask them

Now, if only you'd make a game about a sport I liked I'd be in heaven.

Just kidding, Marc. I have enjoyed previous versions of CM and will likely purchase EHM at some point.

Great. So it's going to be released next week, right?

(Yeah, I know, but it's almost as much fun to tease you about it as it is to tease Riz. We WANTS! WE WANTS IT, OUR PRECIOUS!!!!)
