The Trail Blazers disgust me..

From ESPN Insider:

Speaking of Wells and the Blazers, how about this incident reported in the Oregonian today.

"As they were leaving the practice facility Wednesday, the morning of their final shootaround together, Bonzi Wells and Rasheed Wallace saw Ruben Boumtje Boumtje shooting jump shots some 100 feet away with his back turned to them.

Wallace slapped Wells on the back and said, "Watch this." Then he picked up a ball, reared back and fired a 100-foot, baseball-style strike that left Boumtje Boumtje writhing the floor. Trainers were summoned. After a few scary minutes, Boumtje Boumtje walked off, OK.

Wells and Wallace?

They giggled like schoolchildren and ran away the moment their teammate hit the canvas."

My favorite 'Sheed moment was the photo in SI in the "Jailblazers" article a few years ago. It was a photo taken at a team PR event with children. The photo showed a very disinterested 'Sheed talking on a cell phone. The author went on to talk about how he pretty much ignored the kids that day and spent most of his time talking on the cell.

'Sheed is the guy D.C. passed the "biggest waste of talent" title to.

Why oh why won't the league do something about this guy? That is horrible, and to a fellow teammate at that. My interest in professional sports wanes daily because of guys like this just running free.

Don't let it affect your opinion of other sports. Just don't watch pro thugsketball.

I totally agree with this statement. Wallace is bad news and the NBA's image isn't getting any better thanks to these antics. How must his teammate feel? This sort of behavior is anything but "professional." This is terrible.

Probably one of the top 5 or 10 guys in the league in terms of 'talent', but pretty much wastes it on a nightly basis.

And who can forget the time he had a technical called on him when his own team was on a fast break...

C'mon - 'Sheed is NOT indicative of the rest of the NBA. To indict an entire league on the basis of his actions of "CTC" is ridiculous. For every 'Sheed there are 100 players that show up, do their job and meet their responsibilities. It's like saying this board is horrible because of the actions of Horns, The Wigs, Happy, et al..

I do hate 'Sheed though.

Don't bother trying to tell this board positive things about the NBA.

Subby's right. Pro basketball sucks on its own merits. No need to blame 'Sheed.

I agree Subby. I let all of the idiots bother me last year and some years prior but this year for all major sports I said to myself, self,
fuck all of the idiots and just watch the damn sport. Don't pay attention to the stupid shit that most 12 years olds wouldn't do, just watch the sport. And believe it or not, I am enjoying watching todays sports again. Like you mentioned, for every dickhead, non-realizing what a good thing he has, piece of shit, human being "Sheed" is, there really are a bunch of other guys trying to win a game and I am not letting an asswipe like "Sheed" ruin my enjoyment of a solid game. Just my .2.
I can't believe I agreed with Subby.

I just love how everyone on this board loves to attack the NBA when every they get the chance. If ya don't like the sport you don't have to proclaim in every thread that shows up about it, just leave it to yourself. There are plenty of topics about different things that I am not a fan of but I don't go into every thread and tell everyone I don't like it.

Well in my case I never said I disliked the NBA; rather that I disliked Wallace's actions and a handful of others whose poor decisions seem to dominate the NBA's image landscape. I actually don't have a problem with the NBA itself, just with a handful of players who, like Wallace, make poor, unprofessional decisions which reflect poorly on the league.

Your post wasn't one of the ones that I was talking about. I personally find Wallace's actions disgusting. I cannot stand players like him, and the few players who are like him give the NBA a bad name. Most of the players are pretty good people. I just can't stand people using every possible oppurtunity to tell how much they hate the NBA, half the posts in every thread about the NBA in this forum end up being about people hating the NBA.

...and another thing, soccer bores the hell out of me.

I'm sorry, you were saying?

I'm just indiscriminately paying back for all of the baseball discussions on this board that get interrupted with "baseball sucks" comments. Do unto others and someone else did unto you - isn't that how it goes?
