Railroad Tycoon 3 vs Civilization 3
Help!!
I am on business in Toronto for the week and am going to purchase one of these games tonight to help whittle away the alone hours here (I hate the Leafs so don't even suggest I check out a game!!) Looking for feedback as I have owned the previous versions of both but have not heard much about these two. As an aside anyone hear anything about Harpoon 4? Thanks guys. P.S. Harpoon 4 is no more. You could get the revamped Harpoon Gold 2002. Its a good revamp of the original Harpoon, very much worth the $30.

Haven't played either, but from everything I heard RT3 was a let down for fans of the originals, wherease I've heard pretty positive reviews of Civ3.
Can't say much more than that, just that Civ3 has received better reviews. |

CIII is fun, but not much different from CIV2. But then again, it's the greatest computer strategy game ever made, so how much different do you want it?
![]() I have no clue about RT3 as I have never played any of the series. Is it addicting? |

I'vw played both Civ3 and RRT3 for a significant amount of time. I hate to sound trite, but I'd recommend both of them. Currently I'm playing Civ3-Conquests, simply because this expansion pack to Civ3 was recently published. There is a significant patch scheduled to be released in January for Conquests.
I'm a huge fan of the RRT series. There are some issues with RRT3, particularly regarding how easy it is to defeat the AI. However, in many ways, this version is a spectacular improvement to the series. Most important, a new patch (no. 3) is due in the next week or so which is advertised to address many issues, particularly the play of the AI. If this patch accomplishes all they are claiming, RRT3 should be an excellent product. Last edited by GabeRivers : 12-10-2003 at 07:51 PM. |
