Dynasty Idea: Front Office Fallout

I've got an idea for a dynasty that I came up with a couple years ago, but just don't have the time to do myself. So, I wanted to throw it out there in case it might inspire someone else.

Front Office Fallout: A Post-Apocalyptic Dynasty.

The year is 2500. It has been over 350 years since the world was ravaged by atomic war, but no one knows for sure. Virtually all records of what led to the fall of mankind were destroyed in the nuclear holocaust.

One day, a man scavanging for supplies in what is now the remnants of New York City, discovers a book buried within the rubble. He carefully brushes the dirt and debris off the cover, revealing the words: Official NFL Rulebook.

From this, a dynasty is born.

The loosely organized NFL (Nuclear Football League) is comprised of teams in various small and large towns across the continental United States. Each team is controlled by ganglords that have agendas beyond the NFL, and are using the league as a means to an (evil) end.

I was going to use was a Five Great Men style format. The story is centered around the tribulations of a small town and their efforts to liberate themselves from oppression. All the people in North America are currently slaves to local bandit lords, who have divided urban centers into their own post-apocalyptic fiefdoms.

The owner of one town has been losing money and is being constantly bullied by other wealthier bandit lords. He sees a chance to change his luck, however, when he happens to hear about five "mutants" in his city. These five men were born with extraordinary physical and mental abilities beyond anything he has ever seen.

The town's owner decides to enter the five men into the NFL draft in the hopes they will earn him a fortune. To inspire these prime physical specimens to perform to the top of their ability, he makes them an offer. If they pay him a total of $250 million within x years, he will grant them, and their families, freedom from slavery (or maybe grant the entire town its freedom). If they fail, their families will be executed.

Anyway, that's my idea. I've been wanting to write it for some time now, but I just don't have the time, and I'm sure I never will have the time. Perhaps someone at FOFC will be inspired.

The story-line is a bit "up from the ashes"-ish... You can probably find that failed dynasty in the dynasty section somewhere. Neither Kodos nor I could save that thing.

We didn't have the "five great men" style focus however, which I did find to be an interesting read when whoever posted that did.

I'm pretty sure my slow start was a major factor in the failure of the Up From The Ashes dynasty. Ah well, you can't win 'em all.

It was some pretty promising stuff too. At the very least, the start-up to that dynasty honed my FOF skills. When I banged out those 50 seasons, I really perfected the offense I used in that version of the game.

Things were really turning around, too... I kind of wish I still had those files saved... but they died with my last computer.

that safety I signed was my best free agent signing, ever. The dude was an absolute monster, and single handedly won a few games in the 2nd season.

My 2nd year draft was also pretty great. I remember the running back "S.T. Kelly" put up some really great numbers.

Maybe we could try another dynasty like that down the line. The ability to change names makes it a lot easier now, too.

We can blame it on Kodos picking that bust of a QB. (Alf I believe).

Didn't Rutger Hauer do this in a movie?
