Depression--when does it go away?

I have this stud DE who I managed to sign in Late Free agency 2 years ago to a relatively cheap contract, due to him suffering "severe depression"

Depressed or not, he managed to record 18.5 sacks last year for me. My problem, though, is that I wrote his contract for 2 cheap years, then 4 HUGE years(roughly 1/4 of the cap amount) to avoid paying him an ungodly bonus.

My problem now is, that he wont "get better" from this depression. And therefore I cant just cut him. I'm wondering what I can do.

I wish I could give him a handgun or something.

a depressed DE who records 18.5 sacks sounds like the kind of player I'd like to have. My DEs are gay and can't get more than 12.

Luckily he got some sort of "shin splints" and viola! his depression went away. I also managed to deal him off too. I was really afraid I'd have to restart or something, due to his having the huge contract, being injured, and not being able to be cut.

OK, for a serious stab at the question, the answer is variable. I strongly suspect Jim G. has a percentage check on depression that it checks against each week. I've seen people listed with "depression" for three weeks, I just had one WR on the Cardinals in my 5 Great QBs dynasty who was listed as having depression for what amounted to most of a season and a half.

Now for an obscure, historical stab: The Depression ended partly out of the initiatives launched by FDR in the New Deal legislation, and the lingering effects ended abruptly when the US entered World War II.
