Question Is Jamal Lewis an MVP?

Ok, this guy sneaked up on me all of a sudden. Have I been living in a cave or is this guy MVP material this year?

Unreal what he has done this year, I feel like an idiot.

I guess I need to switch back to Direct TV and get the NFL package next year.

I had never even heard of the guy until a few weeks ago when he rushed for 68 yards against Jacksonville. That was a truly great performance, along with his 78 yards against the Niners a couple of weeks later. I don't know what else he has done, but thanks to breakout games like that, the Crows are going to the AFL championship game. I just want to know how they continue to win with Quincy Carter at quarterback.

Yes, Jimmy Lewis for MVP.

Or reading something other than St. Louis Rams Official Fan Boy Guide to the NFL.

Lewis is amazing and has had an incredibe year. I must admit that watching Priest Holmes week in and week out makes it difficult for me to choose between those guys.

I guess it comes down to the V in MVP. As great as Lewis is, I'm not even sure he is the most valuable Lewis on his team. Baltimore's defense is the star of that show, while Kansas City would be nowhere without Holmes in that offense. I think McNair's injuries keeping him out at the end of the season and Peyton Manning's dominance over him knocks McNair down.

My MVP ballot:
1. Holmes
2. J. Lewis
3. Manning
4. McNair
5. Thomlinson

Is there such a thing as the NFC?

Maybe McNabb or Hasselbeck?

Jamal Lewis is valuable, but not most valuable. As much as I have been hyping Manning all year long, in the face of all the McNair for MVP talk, I'd have to say at the end of the day, McNair is the league MVP.

Have to agree here. In fact, I'd say he's very valuable, but still not the most valuable. The Ravens win games with their defense, even if they had a back of much less ability than Lewis, I'm not sure how much it would have changed their record.

uhhhh dude, Lewis is their only offense, if they didn't have him, they probably wouldn't score any points at all....

Any time a player rushes for over 2000 yrds in a season, he deserves to be MVP

As much as I'm a Peyton Manning fan, and Colts fan in general .... how can someone say Jamal Lewis isn't the MVP?

Honestly, we saw what the Ravens are without him while he was injured. NOTHING. Teams gear up, and put 8 or even 9 guys in the box trying to stop him, and it usually doesn't work. It's the only reason they even have a passing offense.

Without him you're talking about the Ravens rivaling the Chargers for the 1st pick in the draft.

You missed those two games where Wright to Robinson lit up the league didn't you? Those two almost scored as many points in 2 games as Jamal did all year. Now ball control offense it wasn't, but hey, they have Ray Ray.

Surely I'm not the only person who has noticed that Ray Lewis isn't quite what he was before his injury last year. He's still a great player, but he's not the Ray Lewis that took Baltimore to the Super Bowl a couple of years ago.

I would say the change from the 4-3 to the 3-4 has more to do with the decline(relatively speaking) in his play. Sharing the middle with Hartwell (a solid player IMO) and not have two behemoths holding up blockers in the middle seemed to "limit" him. That said I think J. Lewis should be the MVP. My feeling is that while Manning and Holmes have had great seasons, the teams they play on are more balanced. McNair by himself provide balance for the Titans. With the Ravens, there is no balance! Jamal Lewis is going to get the ball. Teams play 8-9 in the box every down. And the man ran for over 2,00 yards!

You honestly believe that they would have been able to do that without Jamal Lewis causing all the one-on-one matchups for the recievers?

The Ravens had 2,517 passing yards this year. They had 2,669 yards rushing.

They had more yards rushing than passing this season. Everything they do is predicated upon the run. The run is predicated upon Jamal Lewis. Without him, it all goes to hell.

Jamal Lewis is not the MVP. LT had at least as good of a season as Mr. Lewis did. The difference for the Ravens was their defense, not Jamal Lewis.

And Jamal Lewis is predicated on his mother and father having sex. And sex is predicated upon man and woman magically fitting together.
