Grenades. Use them. Use lots of them. I just realized that last night, and the game is 50x easier now. I'm totally hooked as of a few days ago, was playing until 2 am last night.

I've had the game since July and never played it because I was addicted to Galaxies. Now that I've started playing it I realize just how much better it is.

I just started playing Galaxies. Playing on Bria. Nice that they gave out holocrons for Christmas. Poped my first one: Smuggler. So I guess I start there. It's a pain trying to find locked containers to slice though. Hell, even if you do, it's only 50/50 that you can open 'em.

I remember when it came out, I happened to have the next 2 days off. Plus, my woman was out of town.

For 2 days, my best friend and I played it. I played while he slept, and vice versa. It was fun as could be.

My advice is to use melee attacks with the wookie. His strength is so immense he beats the crap out of everything. I never even use blasters, they're useless to me.

One of the best games I've played in a long time.

Get two light sabers for all of the Jedi. By the end of the game my whole crew that I used was comprised of Jedi. It was pretty awesome.

The game does rock. Have it on the X-box and have just arrived on the Star forge. Later I'll probably pick it up on the pc when it goes on sale. I haven't had this much fun since X-com.

Still can't get it to play. The company sent me new disc and that didn't fix it. I hate Bioware.

Yes there have been a lot of bugs and problems with the PC version, anyway. Several of my friends could never get the game to run and had to return it.

I've only played the X-Box version but how does the PC version compare? I'm thinking of picking it up.

The PC version is very pretty Especially now that I have my new video card. As far as new content, I don't believe much has been added into the game at all. I've talked to my friend who played the X-Box version and he had pretty much all of the areas that I had. I think they only added some special powerful items towards the end of the game to the PC version. I played the game through the 1st time with a warrior who was strong as an ox and I just ran up to everyone and used melee attacks. Now, I'm an explorer, and I find the desire to use grenades much more at least in the early part of the game. I haven't gotten this much enjoyment out of a game in a while. By the way, I've had no significant PC problems since the 1.01 patch came out.

I have an ATI Radeon 9600 video card and just couldn't run the game at first.
It would crash after 10 seconds everytime.
So I checked on the web and that happened to be a known issue which was resolved with patch 1.01.

Indeed, it works perfectly well now.

The best thing about the PC version though is the VASTLY improved interface. Having a mouse just makes everything sooo much easier.

My problem is it will not load. It is a disc problem. Others have had it fixed by getting new ones, but it did not work for me. I did get it to load on my wife's computer, but it is not powerfull enough to run it.

Started the game Saturday and I'm 20 hours into it. It seems like its going to take me well over 50 hours as I'e only visited two planets. But I'm one of those types that likes to do everything. All of the side quests and stuff you know.

Can you get another lightsaber for your Jedi? Right now I have him using a vibroblade in the other hand becase I already used a couple feats getting two-hand proficiency. A lightsaber for the other hand would be very cool, indeed.

Yes you will get another lightsaber if you are patient. Towards the end of the game I had collected at least 10 of them Make sure you always search people's body after you kill them.

Dola - you can also get short lightsabres which are perfect for dual wielding and reduce the penalty of doing so.

By the way I got my first "extra" lightsabre on the 3rd planet. You shouldn't have to wait too much longer to get another lightsabre.

Edited: I was wrong it was the 3rd, not the 2nd planet.

Early word is that if there is a sequel, that Bioware won't be making it.

Kills the anticipation I would have had for it.

Look into Jade Empire for Xbox. It's an Xbox exclusive game that Bioware is making.

I got this game the day after XMas. I have played it so much that my dreams are in the style of KOTOR (3rd person perspective...my dreams pause...it's so weird...)

I played through it and beat it with a Soldier/Guardian. My guy was uber-like. The Force Jump that Guardians get owns it up hardcore. My guy was also fought with two lightsabers. And I had kept him nuetral, not full to the light or dark.

I started a new game last night as a Scout. I just landed on Tatooine and am now a Sentinal. I'm trying to make this character a dark-side force master, not be concearned so much with melee (although I have been spending feats to get him dueling, which makes you attack better and increase your defense when you only have one weapon). I already did the 2-lightsaber thing, so now I'm going with just the traditional 1 lightsaber.

Maybe after my evil-as-all-hell sentinal finishes, I'll start another character to use a lightsaber staff and be full to the light side.

Grant, what exactly did they say was the problem?

They gave a generic "just won't work with some drives," but the word is it's the copy protect. Sad thing is you can't even copy the disk to your hard drive and load them from there (which usually will burn a copy protect problem). *Sigh*

Fun Tidbit: To get more "side-quests" in KOTOR, "talk" to your traveling party. I know when I first played the game it was just annoying to see the subtitle "so and so...is...you should talk to them."

I would just ignore them and continue with the game. What I found out after the third time playing the game is that you get little "side-quests" after you get into deep conversation with the other characters. And I mean deeeeep. You have to talk to a single character at least 9-10 times to open the specific "side-quests" for that specific character. But it's worth it. Examples include finding Bastila's mother and Mission's brother.

You played through it three times without talking to your party? I talk to them all the time. I kind of like listening to Canderous' war stories.

I actually thought Canderous' stories were the most boring. Now talking to Bastila was a blast. I always turned the conversation to the point where she got really angry or really blush.

I did read somewhere that if you play your cards right, a romance develops between Bastila and your main character (assuming he is a male).

Heh, I always liked it when thw two party members you had with you would talk. For example, Bastila and Carth would get into and arguemnt, or Canderous and Bastila would argue. Doesn't seem like many people like Bastila so far come to think of it...

When two party members would argue, I would always use the instigating response. The best one (I'll be general to not spoil it for those still playing the game) was on the planet where you had two families feuding.

Let's just say the result ended with some bloodshed, but it was funniest part of the game to me. Needless to say, I earned some serious dark points for my role.

That statement suprised me too. I mean it's an RPG for God's sake . The first thing I did was chatted up my party for all it was worth. Candalous has good war stories, but TK-37 (or whatever) had the best conversations .

I would talk to my party, but it would a) seem to lead to nowhere or b) I was too involved with the other tasks in the game to get any deeper in conversation with my party characters.

I enjoyed all of the conversations, and playing through as a "light mastery" character I struck up a romance with Bastila. It is a fairly short storyline, and many fans on their boards have requested that the romance storyline be fleshed out more in the sequel (assuming a sequel is made.)

By the way, I am amazed that someone would play through even once without talking to all of the characters. I had to talk to them each time through.

Same here. The conversations and reactions with other party members was one of the best part of the game. It should be much more expanded in the next game. I want HUGE conversation trees and talk about deeply personal stuff to the people I'm having follow me!

In order to get everything from the game you really need to play it through at least four times:Light Male, Dark Male, Light Female, Dark Female. Apart from smaller differences throught the game, each of those four options has a different ending.

That little side quest ended was GREAT! One of the best moments in RPG history (just because they had to balls to include it.)

I've been trying to strike up a romance with Bastila by alwasy choosing the C&F responce (as my dark character).

I think I missed that moment you are talking about sabotai. I'm working on a light side character so I usually don't instigate fights.

TP6, if and when you play through with a dark side character, instigate fights as much as possible. It's much fun.

I keep trying to wait and wait until I can get this game for cheaper than $40. I don't purchase many PC games but I noticed sometimes they come down in price sooner than the console games. Can someone who does know a thing or two about PC games let me know if I should just go ahead and purchase the game now or may the price drop down in the not too distant future?

I love Star Wars, and I played Galaxies for a while but now I'm ready to move on.

I bought KOTOR the other day, but it hasn't really grabbed me so far. I think it's the turn based combat thing that doesn't exactly do it for me, I'm too used to the Jedi Knight style of combat I guess.
