Is there any Web Site updating the BCS standings?
I know that the Coaches poll and AP poll are set, but is someone updating the BCS poll with each bowl game?
It seems some eager beaver would have the BCS computations entered into their computer and with the conclusion of every bowl game reset the standings(W/L record, Strength of schedule, etc...)

I don;t think there is another BCS standings generated, I could be wrong but I thought the last BCS poll that set the bowl games was the last one period each season. these bowl games simply decide who gets the trophy, their poll positions are set.

Yes, I know that there is not an Official BCS update, But iI was hoping for an unofficial one.
If the BCS is just one complex mathmatical formula laid on top of another formula, why can't some math wiz who knows the BCS computer system backwards and forwards keep updating the rankings?

Well, if Oklahoma beats LSU there's no way they aren't #1 is all I can say. They were #1 while ranked 3rd in both human polls. With a boost in strength of schedule, points for a quality win, and most likely staying atop the computers, plus being #1 in the Coaches Poll, with the AP screwing up and most likely leaving them 2nd. Top 5 would likely be Oklahoma - USC - LSU - Ohio State - Miami in this scenario. If LSU wins it's most likely LSU - USC - Oklahoma - Ohio State - Miami.
After that it's most likely Miami University, and Georgia, though with 5 current top 10 teams losing I don't really think I could make an accurate prediction past that. Last edited by mckerney : 01-03-2004 at 01:10 AM. |

Right now I would predict the BCS to look like this:
1) USC 2) LSU 3) OU USC gets the bump for their bowl win. OU loses ground because of KSU's and the rest of the big XII bowl losses.

I would be interested to know how the BCS rankings would look after all the games, and if the coaches weren't forced to vote the Sugar Bowl winner #1.

Llyod Carr said after the USC game that if wasn't contractually obligated to vote for the winner of the Sugar Bowl, he would no doubt vote for USC. I also find Pete Carroll saying, "Noone will go to jail for voting whoever they want as #1" interesting. I'm waiting to see if there is a couple coaches that actually vote for USC.

CollegeBCS.com will probably update their standings.
Also, the coaches' ballots come pre-printed with the winner of the Sugar Bowl as number one. The coaches just vote for 2-25. That said, the guy who runs the poll for ESPN/USA Today has said that if a coach wants to change his vote he will tally it as given to him. |

I think OU would be #1 in a hypothetical BCS standings with a win even if the coaches poll had OU at #2. USC and LSU would be a lot closer if LSU win, Wazzou and Georgia might jump into the top ten, but where would be a big question. Also how far OU fell would make a difference. But OU falling behind USC in the computers would I think make the difference and would put USC ahead of LSU.

Is that on the subscription portion of the collegebcs.site? I'm only seeing the pre-bowl ratings on the site now.
