Legend of the Game

I'm just wondering if other people will continue to resign players just hoping that they will win this award. I hung onto Dawkins even as his skills declined (he was a mentor which was helpful) hoping he would win this award. Fortunately, my patience paid off as he just retired and he won the award. Anyone else keep a player just because they have been with your team for a long time and you want them to become a legend of the game?

By the way here are the summary of his career stats (I really need to figure out how to get some web space so I can post screenshots):

10 years played, 160 games started! 731 tackles (he still had 68 in his last year and was generally a 75 tackle a year guy), 252 assists, 6.5 sacks (I didn't blitz him nearly as much as the Eagles do IRL), 3 blkd, 7 hurries, 10.9 tackle percentage, 33 interceptions, 5 defensive touchdowns, 133 passes defensed, 20.1 PDpct. He was an integral part of a very good defensive unit for a lot of years and he never missed a game. He will be missed.

I tried Digitalstar and kept having trouble loading my pics . However, I can't believe I'm just now realizing there are lots of good sites that are free for hosting pics.

Anyway, the main point of this post is because I didn't sign a free agent to replace Dawkins and I didn't have a really high quality safety to replace him. So, I was looking for a safety in the draft, preferably in the 1st round so I could have another top safety to keep for a lot of years. I don't know if other people on here value a quality FS as I do. Anyway, I see this absolute magnificent safety at the top of my draft board. I figure he might go in the top 10. I'm all prepared to move up to get him as I'm currently in the 22nd slot. Washington is picking 5th and their top two needs are CB and QB. They take a CB with the 5th pick. Then they trade up and with the 6th pick.. well they didn't take a QB . Here is card immediately after the draft:

So, should I do whatever it takes to get him and make him my franchise safety. Of course, if I can pry him away from Washington at least I won't have his signing bonus to worry about.

Well. I edited the above link and it is a little more legible... still not great

It looks like that site is cutting my screen size to almost a third of it's original size. Is there anyway to prevent that or should I start looking for another site. Any other suggestions for a site? I'm willing to pay a reasonable fee if it is an easy to use site that will host quality pictures.

Here he is post training camp:

I really want him on my team. Unfortunately, Washington won't trade him because of the dead cap space hit. I even tried offering them 3 number 1's and a few 2's just to see if they would take it. They wouldn't . I wish I had traded up into the number 5 spot and gotten this guy as I think he has the potential to be a real warrior in the mold of Dawkins (or even better.)
