Matt Hasselbeck - nice

Matt is looking pretty spiffy in the second half. What are you thoughts on his future in the NFL? Boom or Bust?

whats even more amazing is that Hasselbeck didn't make the pro bowl team yet Mcnabb did.

Compare they're numbers this season.....

Matt Hasselbeck SEA 3841 513 313 26 15 80 88.8

Donovan McNabb PHI 3216 478 275 16 11 59 79.6

Chalk one up for Rush......

Hasselbeck has very quietly had a good season this year. Holmgren has done a good job with developing him, and not giving up on him early.

With the pressure on teams to play young QBs, I feel bad for them when they are seen as hopeless after only a few seasons. The old days, you didn't see a QB until his 5 or 6th year after he spent time studying behind number 1 - watching, learning, waiting.

Ryan Leaf may have even been good. Given time.

Amazing that the refs refused to make the correct call without replay on the Hasselbeck 'fumble' without blowing a whistle, but are so quick on the gun when Green fumbles.

McNabb is the team leader for the #1 seed in the NFC. He has essentially nothing to work with on offense. Hasslebeck has a stud RB, and a nice core of WR's. Don't get me wrong, Hasselbeck is a above average QB, but if you put Mcnabb on that squad and you'd have something special.

I don't think the players you have around you should really have much of an influence on who goes to an All-Star game. Its who had the better year, plain and simple.

i strongly disagree... Mcnabb is a good quarterback don't get me wrong. But there are quite a few guys in the NFL i'd take over him in a second. Just look at his career numbers.... they are above average but nothing special.

For a guy who's in 12 commercials every dam football game i watch, he should be putting up Manning or Mcnair numbers.

I think McNabb is over-rated because he is black.

McNabb doesn't put up very flashy numbers but he leads his team to wins. What more could you want?

Maybe McNabb being overrated has something to do with his playing for one of the NFL's flagship franchises? Do you really think he would get this much press if he played in Cleveland or Detroit? Or maybe getting to the conference championship and winning the NFC East multiple times plays a part?

Of course I'm sure its easier to chalk it up as just a black thing, afterall that free good publicity certainly worked for Akili Smith.

Not trying to defend McNabb, but it's a bit closer when you factor in the rushing stats.

McNabb 71 355 5.0 TD=3 FD=26

Hasselbeck 36 125 3.5 TD=2 FD=10

.
