Do any women play FOF?

I was just wondering... The only games women I know play are things like "the sims." I don't know of any women into text-based games...

Well, I did get my wife hooked on Hollywood Mogul recently, but that's about it.

Then again, she doesn't play too many games of any sort, other than the occasional RPG.

My wife and I play "Front Office Pornstar" from time to time...

We usually leave the computer out of it, though...

I can't seem to convince my male football-loving friends to play the game (they're obsessed with graphics and playing Madden on the PS2) much less the women that I know. It's also hard to convince them that a quality weekend is four playoff games and a big screen TV, even my girlfriend. Bah, I say!

Actually, I am proud to say that my girlfriend is addicted to TCY! She seems to have no interest at all in the pro FOF game (plenty of interest in the actual NFL though), but she plays TCY all the time. I think she has played 3 or 4 different careers over the last year, and plays them out long term too.

I steal draft classes from her games to use for the pro game ... well, I used to. I haven't been playing at all lately.

It is nice to be able to boast about this somewhere, actually. My friends have been amazed at how she is every bit as big a sports fan as I am, so they let her play in our fantasy football league ... but she finished 11th out of 12, which took some of the luster off of this phenomenon

Still, I get the least resistance to a sports/ sports-sims obsessed lifestyle of any attached guy I happen to know.

Seriously. I've gotten really lucky this year in regards to the playoffs. My girlfriend has had to work both saturdays (last weeks and this coming one) that had playoff games, so i've been completely free to watch all 4 games. It's like a two-week holiday.

I get so sad after the conference title games though...a 2 week break for 1 overblown game. I've found it very hard to get really into the Super Bowl the last few years, the really long commerical breaks and the fact that I'm usually watching it with a group of people who know very little about football make it tough. It's hard to seriously enjoy a game when women are asking about every single rule, getting excited about commericals, or moaning about how hot John Lynch is.

True, although by "this game" I would include any sports-based text sims.

I've found that these kinds of games have a lot in common with my favorite band, King's X, in terms of popularity - not many people have heard of it, and those that do either get it to the point of fanaticism, or don't get it at all. There's rarely an in-between.

When I play FOF2004 or any other sports text sim game for that matter, my wife says "That doesn't look like a game. It doesn't have any graphics."

Actually, her favorite games to play are the Sims on the computer and any of the yahoo card games. She also occasionally plays Neverwinter Nights.

The Sims are actually the first game I ever got for my own computer (I had bought games in the past to play on a friend's computer.) I hated it... my wife loved it. She has played it and its nefarious expansions ever since.

My wife hates it when i play any computer game. She always says, "maybe we should just get rid of the computer, I think we would be more productive." Of course by "we" she means "me." She also hates watching all cool sports on TV. She roots for my teams to lose and she is glad when players cry and are sad after a loss because she thinks they are idiots and shouldn't take their games so seriously.

Wow. I don't know how you guys marry women like this. My ex didn't mind watching sports with me and rooted for my teams. She also didn't think text sims were stupid. If only she wasn't so controlled by her mother....

Either this is a fib (doubt it) or you should dump this woman now. I don't care if she has the body of a supermodel and screws like a mink. She ain't worth it, man.

My wife tends to spend an amazing amount of time playing Neverwinter Nights, Diablo II, and a few other RPGs online. So she can hardly complain about my sitting down in the den and playing FOF/TCY for a few hours.

Of course, we've been married so long (17 years) that we both pretty much embrace each others foibles at this point.

I got my wife into TCY for a few months, and NCAA Football for XBox, which she still enjoys (but coaches only, she can't call a defense or make a tackle to save her life). I tried getting her into CM when I was obsessed with that game, but she was utterly disinterested in that after about 4 days.

She's been playing Zeus and Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 for a while now, while I stick with my new XBox games of GTA: Double Pack and ESPN College Hoops.

My girlfriend is great. Since it is going to be so cold this weekend, she says were are going to curl up on the coach and watch college basketball and the playoffs, right. I said of couse.

She also said, we must watch the New England game, because it will be so cold up there. She agrees that football in the cold and snow is the best.

She is wonderful and even accepts by text simming. She told me last night that I can bring my laptop over whenever to play.

With my ex live-in girlfriend, I had to call playing on the computer, "Checking My Email", because if I had enough time to play games, then by definition I should spend that time/attention on her.

My wife still doesn't know the original FOF was dedicated to her. Why spoil the surprise?

My sole contribution to her gaming experience is telling her when the next Sims expansion set is due for release.

On the plus side, she is very good with a spreadsheet.

Quit dawdling with silly posts about spreadsheets and get back to work on TCY2, ya slacker.

BTW, how was the first holiday season with your young'in?
