LeBeau back in Pittsburgh

Dick LeBeau is back as the Steelers defensive coordinator. Hopefully good things follow.

Steelers need some new cornerbacks to go w/ LeBeau and their defense should bounce right back. Hopefully they can pick up a shutdown corner in the draft.

Yup, that's what I'm hoping for. A couple of draft preview articles I read had the Steelers selecting a CB in the 1st round.

THis should be good. We gotta get that shutdown corner though. In my ideal world, Id try to trade our first and 4th to the Pats for their 2 firsts, send one of the firsts and (maybe) our third to the Rams for Bulger(for the compensation...he's a Pittsburgh boy), take a Corner in round 1, DL in round 2, and gamble on a late round RB. But what do I really know.

With LeBeau's schemes, the need for a shutdown corner has been reduced. Not eliminated, but it certainly doesn't rank as high as say...running back in my mind. After all, in 1995, the Steelers were 2nd in the NFL in total defense. Woodson was hurt all season...so LeBeau had Deon Figures, Willie Williams, and Carnell Lake as his three main cover guys. Good DBs, but not a shutdown corner in the bunch. You always want to upgrade your talent if possible, but if the pass rush improves, then I think Scott, Townsend, and Taylor will be fine.

Actually I'm hoping Sean Taylor somehow drops to 11. He won't, but I will be very happy and I think the Steelers would be very happy to grab him.
