Arrow I bought St. Anger 2 days ago

I had heard many things about this album, about 95% of them being very bad. However I wanted to hear it for myself. I wanted to give Metallica a shot at redeeming themselves for over a decade of bad music. So I popped my compact disk into my magic "laser" machine and sat back for the next 75 minutes....

Rarely do you see a coaster with such fine artwork.

LOL

I haven't heard the album, but the two singles I've heard on the radio were pretty piss poor. They said they were "going back to their roots", but instead it just sounds like they are playing the same styled material of their last couple of albums, only with more double kick bass druming....

I'm a huge Metallica fan (have been mybe) and i couldn't believe what i heard, they tried to sound raw and powerfull..... but it sounds like a bunch of kids in a garage trying to play nu metal. Some songs are not as bad, but the production is really really bad, they said it was by purpose to sound raw, but it sounds like crap, specially the drums, i can't stand that snare sound for more than 2 songs. Also James H. recorded all songs vocals each in one take, and he is crearly out of tone in some of them. And about Kirk H.... well is he really playing in that record?
Sad, really sad.
The day i bought it was a really sad day.
