Sons better than Fathers???

With all of the sequel hoopla, what about the ultimate football sequel: the son?

With Peyton finally winning a playoff game, but maintaining a true-to-course "I suck in the big game" mentality, and his younger brother Eli coming into the league, as well as some other notables playing in the league, who do you think is the best sequel in the league or coming into the NFL?

Some ones to think about:

Brian Griese: Not as good as his father
Peyton Manning: Has the tools, but I'd still take Archie
Kellen Winslow: I'd take him over his father
Anthony Dorsett: Dad, no contest
Chris Simms: I think he'll be better than his father

Just a few to think about

A different angle, but I think Ken Norton Jr. made a name for himself as a very good football player instead of just being Ken Norton's son.

I don't think he'll come close to Phil Simms.

I think Jarrett Payton has the tools to be better than his father but he will probably never get the chance to prove it .

Anthony Munoz>Anthony Munoz.

And if Archie played today, he'd be like Steve Young, unfortunately he played in the wrong era. I think he is far more athletic than Peyton or Eli. I think Eli may have the best arm. I think Peyton understands the game better than either one. However, I think Eli could be the best out of all of them. But he went to Ole Miss, so I'm biased.

I'll disagree. Winslow was the best TE in NFL history before his injury. I think Winslow has a ton of talent, but he also has a masive ego, and that'll hurt him.

How is it Peytons whole team disintigrates, but its him and him alone that cant win the big game? And why is nobody riding Mcnabb. His dumb ass lost 3 straight conference championships, 2 at home. And if you are going to mash Manning for getting beat up and not having time to throw against a superior defense, then your whole fucking team sucks after the absolute ass kicking that Tampa put on the "unstoppable" Raiders last year.

Dick Butkus, over Luke Butkus! Er...or is Luke his nephew? Can't quite remember...then again, they both play different positions...

Have you look at what both quarterbacks have to work to? The Colts offense is one of most talented bunch I've seen in the while.

I am not sure if this is true, but I heard something about another Manning brother who was in high school or something, could someone help shed some light on this for me because I'm not sure if I am just making this up or if it's actually true.

Wow, pretty personal there using profanity, but whatever floats your boat.

#1: Tampa Bay doesn't look so good now do they? Not that the Raiders are any better, but the fact that Jon Gruden coached against his old team in the Superbowl gives him a decided advantage. Not saying that the Raiders weren't stupid for not changing their plays.

#2: Manning has played in a dome for the past, what, six years? And it was snowing on Sunday in Foxboro? Might that have something to do with it? Sure.

#3: I'm not saying that Donovan McNabb didn't choke. He did. But his receivers also let him down.

#4: Who's better? Edgerrin James or Duce Staley (debatable)? Marvin Harrison or Freddie Mitchell? Indy's O-Line or Philly's O-Line? Philly's defense or Indy's defense? I think overall, Peyton is more set up for success.

#5: Tee Martin won the National Championship???

Kellen Winslow Jr. has a lot of work to do before he can be viewed as his father's equal. He might get there, but Winslow Sr. was probably the greatest TE in NFL history at the time he retired. He has been surpassed now by Shannon Sharpe and maybe Ozzie Newsome, but he was an incredible talent.

As far as Peyton Manning is concerned, I just can't help remembering that about five or six years into his career, Michael Jordan had the exact same knock on him - lots of talent, but he couldn't win championships. And then he went out and won six of them. I'm not saying that Manning is the Michael Jordan of football, but there are a lot of great players who never won one. Dan Marino comes to mind. John Elway didn't win any until his career was almost over. Give Peyton some time. He's still young, and up until recently, the Colts have had a dreadful defense.

#1: Stop making excuses for losing, the Raiders just plain got whooped, Gruden or no Gruden.

#3 & #4: You have decent points here. BUT! How did they all play on Sunday? McNabb's WR's didn't help him correct, but was Manning the only guy for Indy who played a bad game?

Right now, i think its easy to call either guy a choker if you don't think too much about it. The Patriots are just a great team, who played at home, lets give them credit for MAKING THINGS HAPPEN instead of just saying, "Oh well, Peyton just choked again." And the NFC was a toss up from the get go. The Panthers, Eagles, Packers, Rams, Seahawks, and Cowboys ALL had some very large, very obvious problems with their teams that kept them from pulling ahead of the rest. I think if you ran these playoffs again, the NFC victor would come out different each time. So maybe McNabb can get some more help, until then i don't completely blame him either.
