Franck Wycheck retires

For those who care, one of the best TE in the game has announced its retirement.

Check out the link at http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/TEN/7030035

I have to admit, I had no idea Wycheck was 4th on the TE catches list.

Steve McNair went through a 3-4 year period where Wycheck was the only guy on the field that could catch a football.

I remember reading about him in USA Today before he was drafted. As I recall, there was some question as to if he would be drafted or not because he switched positions out of college.

The man could run. I feel bad he is retiring.

During the 'Music City Miracle' game, when he threw that lateral to...who was it, Kevin Dyson?

How long as that TD pass? I was checking out his stats and all on the NFL.com website, and kind of noticed that he's thrown for some TDs in his career. Naturally, I guess they don't store the playoff game stats, but I think on the regular season, it had him toss a 61 yarder or the like...

a backwards lateral is not a pass

ditto... he was always a guy who gave all the effort he had on every play. He never seemed to be the best athlete or the best at anything he was just a solid all around football guy. I'd group him right up there with the Mathews bros...

With Wycheck gone and probably George cause of his cap number, it looks like there will be a little bit of new look in the Titans offense next year

Wycheck was a true gamer, one of those players you "hated" on the opposite side of the field, but deep down you'd love to see him on your team.
