Early SuperBowl predictions

We're now four days away from the Big Game...
what are your predictions ? did they evolve since the previous SB poll 10 days ago ?

As for me, the more we get closer to it, the more I feel like the Panthers can win this thing.

right now it's : Panthers 21 - Patriots 17

dola.

Actually, I think this should more of an offensive game than what most people envision.

panthers are my favorite team, ever since they came into the league. therefore I shall refrain from making a prediction.

OH fine. panthers 23 - pats 13

Last edited by k0ruptr : 01-27-2004 at 04:23 PM. Reason: realized that there is no way the pats will score 19. lol

I see an early 0-0 score, which will eventually be broken by one or possibly both teams.

How will the points come about in that one????

Patriots score touchdown, Panthers block extra point and return it for a TD for 1 point. 6-1 score

Field goal(6-4)

Field goal(7-6 Final)

???

or how do you figure...

Not to rain on your parade, but that can't happen in the NFL.

The only team that can score on a 2pt conversion or PAT is the offensive team. All the defense can do is stop them, not score.

Hmm, I wonder why I had always thought the defense could score.

and it actually wont even be that close - Pats will lead early, and control the game from there.

Anyone know the lowest score possible for an NFL game? I had heard it was 1-0....if a team does not show up or not enough players they forfeit the game, ending 1-0. Just wondering if anyone actually knew the answer?

My thoughts exactly. Belichik is the best coach in football right now. No way in hell they lose this game.

Isn't 0-0 after overtime a possible score?
And there were a winner is needed, a safety could help a team to a 2-0 victory.
But I guess anybody can think of those two scenario's, no?

People are getting way too carried away with the Panthers and are overlooking how good this NE team is. I think it's a total mismatch in favor of the Pats.

Perhaps a lot has to do with an over-estimation of how good a team Philly is. I'm not impressed at all with the Eagles so that Panther win carries less weight IMO.

30-7 Pats...

14-9 Patriots, but I don't think it will be that close of a game.

The Panthers can do one thing consistently that New England can't...run the football. You can't get away with that against a defense as good as Carolina's.

Carolina 17
New England 16
