Super Bowl commercials

OK, I'll admit I missed a lot of them. Out of the ones I saw, the only amusing ones were the Chevrolet soap commercial and the Willie Nelson advice doll / H&R block commercial. The Cedric bikini wax one was OK, but not nearly as good as some of his previous ones.

What were some of your favorites?

Well, there were a bunch of teenage fellons, a bunch of pre teen kids going around saying Holy Shit. The only I found remotely funny was the bears buying the pepsi. Actually the 2 best commercials i saw were at the end of Survivor with all the old TV Maids and Butlers and there was another one I liked but I dont remember it.

I didn't see a lot of them but my favorites that I did see were the Chevy 'soap' one and the Budweiser ref one (I thought they were going with Pallace Guard at first, the way he was standing there not moving a muscle). The Pepsi 'Napster' one was okay.

None really stood out to me though.

The Lays potato chips when the old couple were fighting for the bag of chips. Golden

The Bud one with the dogs going after the beer in their own ways .

Also the Bud one with the donkey.

And the Bud one with the ref tuning out the crowd noise.

I didn't think there were many noticeably good ads, myself. I liked the NFL Network one a lot though.

My favorite was the bears with the Pepsi, although I really liked the Budweiser donkey commercial because it was incredibly cute. I wasn't impressed by any of the other commercials, really. My fiancee liked the Pizza Hut commercial with Jessica Simpson and the Muppets, but that was actually shown before the game started (although it was in the game's time slot, if that makes sense).

The whole SuperBowl/Commericials thing is overhyped. That's what we all get for being stuck in this time of year, just desperate for something to take our minds off of all the cold, white stuff still hanging around outside for another 2 months. If this was the middle of summer it would all be a big yawn.

My favorites were the Mastercard/Simpsons one and the NFL Networks/Tomorrow! one. The NFL Networks almost had me pissing my pants. Honorable mention to one of the first of the night, H&R Block Willie Nelson Doll.

I gotta second the FedEx Alien ad. That was damn funny.

But it wasn't as good as my dad trying to explain the Bud Light "Rocket Sleigh" ad to my mum while laughing his ass off. I guess the fart joke is still timeless.

As much as I love the Simpsons, I didn't think that commercial was funny at all.

Yes. You and every other country that is not America, I think. I watched the Sky Sports broadcast, they just had your standard British commercials. The AFN shows freakish jingoistic/lifestyle commercials. Has anyone ever watched these? They are amazing. They feel like something you'd see in a war movie satire. Very strange and off-putting.

I haven't seen the "Superbowl" commercials for two years now. It's a bit of a shame, but I don't really miss it all that much. The worst part is the game not starting until 12:30 and not finishing until around 4:30/5:00 am. Well, that's not the worst part either, the worst part is having to get up and go to work the next day.

I thought they were mostly crappy.

And why did anyone like the Pepsi bears commercial. Since when do they ID people for buying Pepsi? It made no sense...

Yeah, when you have to insert something that makes no sense into your joke just to be able to get you to the punchline, you should probably crumple up that piece of paper, toss it in the can, and start over. Or make it into a Super Bowl ad, I guess.

Reebok didn't want to spend the cash for another SB ad, so they made a 3 minute spot available on the website, for all of you lucky bastards with fast internet connections.
