Question 3-4 question

In FOF2004, when you are playing a 3-4, is it more appropriate to play DE or DTs?
In other words, in your base defense should it be:

DT NT DT (This is more like RL)

or

DE NT DE

?

as with all gameplanning, I think it really depends on your personnel. If you have some stud DE's by all means get them in the lineup. However, most 3-4's I have seen utilize the 2 OLB's as DE's. Thus, I'd favor DT's inside more than DE's. If setting up a team from scratch I would get 2 stud DT's and a stud DE to play the base 3. I would move the DE to either side depending on teh strength of the OL side vs side. Then you could cover up the other end position with one of your LB's. Play around a bit and see what works for you, especially if your team is already assembled.

Unlike real life, your DE's aren't going to be penalized if they're undersized. I would just focus on acquiring and keeping the best D-lineman you can afford, regardless of whether that means 2 DE's and 1 DT, or starting a few DT's out of position.
