Talking How can I say "thank you" in Portugalese?

Those of you who've visited the "formidable and up" transfer list thread know that I have a formidable playmaker/inadequate passer currently on the market. He was put on the market last Friday, for 1.25 million U$, he didn't sell. Fine, he was put back on the market within minutes of his first deadline, now for 1.125 million U$ (or 2.25 million C$)...

His deadline is today 1:19 pm eastern, and with about 2 hours left, he still didn't have any bids on him. I was almost getting ready to log in at 1:20 and put him back on the market for 1 million U$. See, I'm looking forward to get that money, in order to convert one of my defenders into a solid coach. He has passable leadership and he just popped to solid experience, one week before his 16 weeks anniversary with the team...

Guess what I just saw in the "My Hattrick" right pannel

Ameixoeira F.C. offered 2 850 000 C$ for Per Rossten and thereby took the lead in the bidding.

Deadline is 2/12/2004 at 19.19

Remember, starting price is 2.25 million C$, this guy just bid 600k C$ (or 300k U$) ABOVE THAT PRICE!!!!

Just made my day, and that money will come just in time for me to convert my coach and have him coach his first training update tonight

I don't know how it works when you convert a player to a coach, but when you recruit externally it goes off of how much money you had at the last update when getting a coach. I learned that the hard way.

As you know, it takes a certain amount of money to get a coach.

When you recruit externally, I'm not sure about internally, the money that you have in the bank isn't what you can spend. You can actually only spend what you had at the last economic update.

that is weird... How did you learn about this? When you tried buying an external coach, it wouldn't let you? It told you you didn't have enough money?

I'll check this when my player's deadline will be up, that won't be the biggest of deal if that's the case, will just mean I'll have to wait until Saturday night to convert my guy and I'll have one more week with my passable coach... In any case I'll let you know how it turned out...

Yeah, I tried to buy a solid coach and it wouldn't let me until the next economic update.

Congrats Frogman,

I'd like to point out that secondaries seem to be huge now. My poor/poor formidable PM won't get a sniff at $700k but Frogman's guy goes up to levels in passing and it doubles the price

I absolutely agree with this and passing is at a premium for inner midfielders, much more than defending...

That being said, I sold a weak/weak passing/defending formidable playmaker for 1.1 million U$ earlier this season. I just like to put them out there, with a nice, high price, and I wait for the big fish to take the bait

As I said, this is very weird. Why would'nt they let you spend money you have in your account is beyond me... My guy's deadline is in about an hour and I'll try it then. Will let you know...

Well, we're not up to my player's deadline, but I did a quick test with the internal coach page... Here's the answer:

Quote:
Use existing player

You do not have enough cash to hire this coach. You only have -266 472 C$ and the price is 1 569 600 C$. The bank is only willing to loan up to 400 000 C$. Please try again when you've saved up some cash.

That -266 472 C$ value is indeed what my bank account showed at the last weekly update, even though right now my bank account is well over the zero dollars mark, thanks to a sold out home game last Sunday... I guess this means I'll have to wait until Saturday night to promote my new coach...

dola, this also means that, unlike for an arena upgrade, they don't let you go under the -200k U$ mark for a coach, and this is different than before the new system was implemented...

Learn something new everyday...this is why I think I should just keep training my guys...I got a 22 y.o. soon to be formidable striker...I figure if I had the willpower to keep training him, it would pay off in another season or two...but the need to upgrade my midfield is always dire because I think the 4 teams above me train midfield...so I'm always in a losing battle (thank god for pressing though)...

anyhows, congrats

hehehe, yes

Herman 'Moggis' Lewblom, who sadly will be let go once I get my new coach. Had I not decided to switch to winger training, he'd still have a place on the team since he can pull 3.5 stars in passable form. But since I've starte buying new trainees in order to switch to winger training, he has played forward in his last match, and that was 3 weeks ago...
