To PIC or not to PIC...
...That is the question.
I just took over the lead by 2 points over two other teams, so I need to pull at least a tie to win the series. The team I'm playing a new team winked into existance last week, so it has played one league game and a friendly. Based on his ratings of disastrous MF on the road, this should be a blowout for me, playing at home--I won 9-1 on the road last week. (Aside, he played an international friendly away game and had two players injured in extra time, so he might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer). My TS is content after spending the early weeks at irritated. I have a semi-clown, but coach is a weak leader. My confidence is wonderful until game day, when it drops to strong, which is a good thing since the players should not get over confident playing vs. the #7 team. Using Hattrick Forever, it forecasts a whole step drop in midfield if I PIC, which would be weak to poor (after allowing for HF not quite getting my MF ratings right). If the other guy MOTS me--which he should do, if he has read anything at all in the conferences, could his MF rise to poor also? I should make more shots than he does, but I'm not inclinded to let this one go to the Hattrick gods. Will I get any benefit from a PIC, given a weak coach? The drop in confidence on game day is prompting my question, more than anything. Is there any realistic reward possible for the risk of a PIC, given my weak coach?

You have what should be an easy win regardless. The guy has a horrible defense (a keeper valued at $26K) and midfield and he's only made 2 very minor purchases since getting the team. The only question is whether or not you get any benifits from a PIC with a weak coach. That, I can't answer, but I would assume you should end up gaining at least a level for a qualification match next week.

I would say PIC it. With a weak coach you TS should atleast be somewhat higher next week if you do. From what you and The herd said, you seem to have the game locked up anyway.

I'm no where near auto-promote, six points off 'the line.' That other team is awful, so I think I'll give PIC a try. It is the risk/reward idea I'm thinking about. If there is no benefit from a PIC, then there is no reason to try it. But if it will get me a level for the qualifier, then its definitely worth doing. Even if the TS doesn't rise a 'name' level, it could be higher on the real numeric scale, and that is worth a try.

I say PIC, anyway. As someone with a poor leadership coach, the PIC has a touch of value even if it just holds your TS; with a norm, it's likely to fall a level over the course of the week. From the above, doesn't sound like this team is much good anyway.

PIC it is.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Hmm. I needn't have worried. 7-1 with 10 minutes left.
When do I learn whom I'm to play in the qualifier?
