Well, since Texas took on what was it, 79 million of the contract. that lessens the load that much for the yankees. Which comes to be barely more than Jeter.

Nice to see a team build from within (the MLB) to win.

I think that 2B position is really their weak link. Is there no way the Yanks can trade for, say, Tejada and then move him to 2nd ?

What, like THREE of those players are original Yankees? Jeter, Williams, and Posada.

That would be decent, but all three were overpaid to stay. I'm guessing anyone you want will be willing to stay when you pay them 150% of their market value. SI

Went to a couple of minor-league games last year, one Frontier League (Evansville Otters) one A level (Lansing Lugnuts). Both very good, great views, sit on top of the action (foul ball missed my head, some on other thread probably wish it had been closer). Kids (Frontier League in all 19-21 years old) great family eviroment, cheap food and drink (Lugnuts had a Christian concert afterwards). Major League is good, but if you tire of the $$$ players (never happy about anything, right Frank Thomas?) give minor league a try. You'll like it.

I love minor league ball. My grandparents live in Rockford and I saw the Rockford Expos then Rockford Reds then Rockford Royals than Rockford Cubs (before the team moved because Rockford wouldn't cough up $1.5M for a new stadium). Good stuff! SI
