Another FBCB question..
I just started another FBCB dynasty, this time with Savanna St. (a prestige rating of 0) and wondered how you guys play the game?
Meaning, I generally let the coaches coach the game while I sim so I can get more seasons in that way, but am I cheating myself? Would I do better if I coached these games? Maybe coach, and fast sim most of the game only making minor adjustments? I'm not as astute with basketball as I am with say, baseball, football, or hockey, although I'm trying to learn. ![]() What do most of you all do? Todd |

I do both extremes actually, but I set it up before I start the dynasty.
I'll either decide to just make the adjustments and let the games take care of themselves or go all out and coach through the entire game and try to stick with that throughout the career. You would be missing out though if you never coached the games yourself and watched the pbp, the game is really good in that regards. Not sure if you'd do better or not coaching them yourself, I usually think I'd be better off letting the computer coach for me. It's up to you really, you can definitely be succesfull either way, so whichever is more fun for ya. |

I do the same as Calis, some dynasties I coach every game, others I do the inputs and let the computer sim them.

I've only made adjustments and let the computer play out the games but earlier in the day I was thinking about trying one where I coach all my games.

It's personal preference, of course, but for what it's worth...
I usually: 1. Make some general settings at the beginning of the year. 2. Watch about half of the games via play-by-play. Strictly hands off. 3. Make changes post-game to try new ideas, fix problems, etc. Just before I took a break from playing the game, I started to scout my opponents more, and started to tweak my pre-game settings depending on my opponent. I don't think I'd coach at this point. I tend to think it gives a significant edge to the human, but this is based on experiences with other computer sports games. Perhaps this isn't true in FBCB, but from what I've seen in the dynasties here, I think perhaps it does give the human an edge. Plus, coaching games would slow things down too much for me. |

I like coaching with a lower-level team where I can ride the hot hand, and use a star player appropriately. A star player on a 5 prestige team is a lot more fun than a star on a 90 prestige team.

Isn't that the truth! ![]() I've coached most of my first games to get familiar with my new team, I'm just wanting it to go a tad faster so I can get this stud center from Canada! ![]() I'm thinking I'll do a little both... I guess I can tweak things and then sim the game? ..or should you have your coaches activiated when simming?? Thanks, Todd |

I just had a Canadian center leave after his junior year, for some reason average 20 ppg and 15 rpg he thought he was ready for the NBA. He was part of the #2 recruiting class in the country too so hopefully we will be ok.

I coach them all myself. I'm still pretty new to the game also but from my experience so far I don't think it is giving me an advantage.

I always let the computer coach. I began tweaking things more, going by what i scout of the opponent, in big games. I too do not know much about the details of basketball, especially when it comes to something like coaching. Of course this all may be the reason that through 80 years and 3 coaches i have not won the National Championship yet, having played in the "Big Game" twice with Richmond with my first coach.......i'll get there.

I only let the computer run the games at first. Then I made the NCAA tourneyment and decided to coach. I was blown away by how good the PBP/Coaching module was done. Since that time, I generally play out and coach most of my games but I occasionally get impatient to see a player develop and then I will let the computer run the games.
