FOF4 corrupt game?

I bought a new computer and installed FOF4 on it, and copied over my universe file from the old computer so I could continue my career. I just tried to load it up, and I got an error message saying the file was corrupt and could not be opened. I tried opening up a different career file, and that one opened up just fine, so it's just the one that has the error. Any ideas on how to rectify this?

Thanks in advance.

Try starting a new career. I know of nothing that can fix a corrupted game file. Then again I'm merely an amateur.

As for preventing said incident from happening...I have no idea..........I'm only here for the post count baby!!!!

Sorry, I'm hyper this morning.

How did you transfer the file between PC's?

I seem to recall problems if you used a directory other than the original "universe" directory for your game files (renaming rather than relocating files). That might be what FBPro is hinting at.

I think this might have still been a problem with FOF4, though I think it has since been remedied. Might be worth a shot.

Good luck.
