Do AI temas renegotiate contracts of players who have more than 1 year remaining?

To be honest, I'm not sure. You can probably check this by checking the transaction logs. Save a game at the beginning of the season, then at the end. Look at the players who had only 1 year left at the beginning of the season. Then you can find out if they renegotiated by checking the end of the season.

My guess is that they do. Notice the signing bonus $$$ on some contracts.
An example would be (for a 5 year contract): Year 1: $3,590,000 Year 2: $3,590,000 Year 3: $3,590,000 Year 4: $900,000 Year 5: $900,000 I always figured that meant that the contract had been extended 2 years. I have NEVER seen a team extend the contract of a player with a zero dollar signing bonus (such as a player traded for) |
