Can someone please explain...

Now I understand the Vikings offered 35 mil when the Jets offered 30 mil, but this sentence made me laugh:

"He also was turned off by the fact that only one Jets player - Sam Cowart, a former teammate - tried to recruit him, a person close to Winfield said. Several Vikings stars called Winfield constantly on his cell phone to woo him."

So the fact that the team offered him $30 million wasn't enough because nobody called him? Please. These athletes are such babies sometimes. Between that and having to hear Giambi bitch and moan all week that his trainer isn't allowed in the clubhouse anymore made me wonder why I even watch sports.

I don't blame him. Finding out that another team REALLY wants you has got to feel pretty good.

I'd rather go somewhere where they want me so bad that franchise players are calling to try and get me there.

I agree. It wasn't a "baby" decision like Owens. If alot of players call me from one team, compare to a player that I played with in Buffalo alone, plus I felt like that city/area was right for me (he was quoted saying something like "It's snowing here, it feels like home). I applaud that he didn't go just for the money, but what felt right. (Yeah, I know, he got an extra $5 million, but he was about to sign with the Jets before that offer and back out, so money didn't seem too huge of a issue).

the fact is the general opinion of the jets right now is shit. I have yet to see anyone's comments on the positive side about that franchise. It used to be a place to sign and make some waves, but right now its just shit.

that's pretty much dead-on. Until Herm and Bradway are gone, this franchise is in deep trouble.
