OT - XP question
I recently got a new computer and I'm now using XP for the first time, so I have what is sure to be a stupid question. But, when I boot up, I get a message saying the user profile is not recognized, so I was logged in as the default profile, or some such. I'm guessing this isn't too important, but I'm anal, and it's annoying, so how do I alter my setup to avoid this in the future?
Thanks in advance. |

Did you install over an older Windows OS?
Go to Control Panel/User Accounts -- what do you see there?

nah, it's a brand new computer, new OS, etc.
User accounts has my name as the system admin and then "Guest" and that's it. |

Bah! That means your account is somehow messed up -- about the only surefire way to fix it is to delete it and create it anew. Maybe someone else has a better idea?
