Winky Wright vs. Shane Mosley
Now it's time for the main event. Unification time. These events are rare and I'm excited, even though I'm not particularly excited about to two fighters after both of their last fights. I'm itching to be shown wrong and to see a great, active fight.

Round 1
Wright's strategy seems to be to piss off Mosley. He spent a lot of time grinning at Mosley after Mosley landed a shot. Wright seems to be setting the pace with his right jab and his defense if holding up.Round to Wright |

Round 2
Trading shot for shot pretty much at this point. Mosley landed some shots, Winky landed some shots. The bottom line in this round though, is when Mosley lands, Winky counters. Winky lands, Mosly covers up or backs up. So far Wright looks the faster and stronger. Round to Wright |

Round 3
It's very clear so far that Winky's defense is simply superior to Mosley's defense. Every time Mosley goes to body, it's blocked. Most of Mosley's shots to head are blocked. Winky, IMO, just gave a good boxing clinic in this round. Round to Wright |

Round 4
THis was a bigger clinic than the last round. Wright is dominating Mosley. Mosley looks confused out there. He simply doesn't know how to fight Wright. His trainers clearly did not prepare him to fight a south paw. There are certain things you have to do against south paws to eliminate their unorthadox advantage and Mosley isn't doing any of them Round to Wright |

Round 5
A close round as Mosley seems to have something that works! He landed several right hooks to the head during a really good offensive flurry in the middle of the round. He landed them, but did they do any damage? Wright didn't lose his cool and continued to do what he had been doing. I think Mosley did just enough to win the round. Round to Mosley |

Round 6
A close round again, but Wright is still pretty much fighting his fight. His number of punches are going down and that's letting Mosley get more shots off. A close one, but this one goes to Wright. Round to Wright |

Round 7
Wright goes back to basically dominating this fight. Mosley couldn't land anything cleanly and Wright continued to jab and away and land a few really nice shots. Round to Wright |

Round 8
Just more of the same. Mosley can't land anything and Wright is just out-skilling Mosley. Wright again lands several clean shots. Mosley looks tired and Wright looks unphased. Round to Wright |

Round 9
Nothing is working for Mosley and Wright just keeps dominating this fight. I don't think Mosley has landed even 1 jab in this entire fight. Wright's defense is superb and his punches are landing at a high rate. Round to Wright |

Round 10
Jim Lamply said it best. "This has become a round by round repetition". Unless Wright loses his head and gets cocky (not funny) and leaves himself open to Mosley...this one is completely over. Round to Wright |

Round 11
This was actually a close round. Mosley knows he needs a knock out and came out firing more. Wright didn't lose his cool, and he kept doing what he's been doing all night. Round to Wright |

Round 12
Mosley comes out firing, Wright doesn't back down and fires back. For every shot Mosley landed, Wright fired back. Mosley landed a few really nice shots, but they didn't hurt Wright at all. But, he still won the round, although Mosley looked like he might have been reading to go at the end of the round. Round to Mosley |

After Round 4, Mosely was literally pouting in his corner. I don't watch much boxing, but I watched this one, and that was really odd. I thought he might just quit right there.
The end of the fight before that one was wierd as well. The guy who won got knocked down 3 times in the last 2 rounds.

Yeah, the Mesi vs. Jirov fight. The thing is, Mesi built up such a huge lead by the tip round 9 came, he could afford to get knocked down 3 times. (barely afforded to).
After the first few rounds, even Mosley knew there wasn't anything he could do. Wright was so dominate. |

Mosley always pouts when he is frustrated. This was the easiest night of fights to score in a long, long time.
I had this 117-111 and the Mesi fight 114-113. |

Damn, you must have given some hefty bonus points to be able to score a 10 round fight 114-113. ![]() |
