How long is your FOF career?

I am turning the corner of my 28th year of my latest career in FOF. For the first 24 years, I took Green Bay (started with real names) to 7 bowls, winning 6. I then took over SF based on a little house rule I came up with.

(I go to the team performances window and, if I click on every column and see that my team is first in every category except playoff winning percentage, I choose a new team. Sounds silly, but I have done this with every version of FOF since FOF2.)

Anyway, after I "conquer" the team performances table, I then take the worst team over, usually SF (sorry Dark). I stay with this team until I get bored.

I am now in my 5th year of turning SF around. I just won my first bowl with them. (turns out that the Green Bay team I left, won 1 more SB thanks to the way I left them....hehe).

My question is: how far do you guys play a career to? The game file is getting pretty big, but I wouldn't mind seeing if I can win a few more bowls. I was thinking about taking it until bowl number 40 or so. Maybe a 50th anniversary cap would be better.

Any suggestions?

Wrapped up my season (year 2030) just moments ago, lost in the second round of the playoffs. I've got a 244-222 GM career so far, and only on my 3rd team. Won only 2 FO Bowls, one each with my first two teams. I think this is the longest career I've ever had, actually. I'll probably keep continuing. I never got fired yet either...

I haven't gotten fired yet, in this career. I might be getting close because even though I got SF to a bowl and won it, I am consistently losing about 100 million a year. Granted, part of that is a new stadium payment. I am just waiting for that email. hehe

I have managed to increase attendance by about 2 or 3 percenct each of the last 5 years. it was at a dismal 62% my first year. It was very hard to build a stadium. They still had the Stick? (1961).

in the Real49ersFootball career, I'm am now in year 2035 (and I've been playing this career for 4 years and 1/2 now !), I've also kept playing alone the former Village Challenge II and am currently in year 2054.
These are my longuest careers but I do play them very slowly, 1 FOF season takes me about a full week in real time to process as I study all I can about the datas that are being processed.

I play out every game on the scoreboard, including pre-season, and then study the box scores, transaction log and scouting report so it takes a while for me to get through a season. I'm currently in 2008 and have yet to make the SuperBowl, the first FOF game that's proving to be a real challenge.

Aye - but I'm also playing on the default difficulty level, I think. It's either that, or on easy. One of those two. Even then, I'm still rather atrocious at being a GM.

In my current Cincinnati career I've played through 28 seasons

We're 292-165 23 full games ahead of the next best team

we've made the playoffs 22 of those 28 seasons, been to the AFC title game 14 of those 22, and been to 6 bowls, winning 5 of the 6.

my winning percentage in the playoffs is .653

I have never had a single offer to take over another team, in 28 years!!!!!

I make over 100 million in profit each seaon!!!!

I've done both a renovation and am currently building a spanking new facility. We sell out every game every seaon.

Why am I not getting any offers? I would have gone to another team a decade ago!

I'm still paying FOF4, don't have the extra cash for 2k4 yet.

I've got a side by side TCY/FOF2004 career going. I've gone ahead about 10 years in TCY because I got hooked, but I think I'm up around 2034. I'll catch up in FOF sooner or later.

UPDATE:

Coming into to 2034 season with SF. Didn't make it into the playoffs, but I had a new stadium coming up. Managed to have over 20 million under the cap for the 2nd year in a row.

I got fired.

I don't like overriding the firing so I am gonna start a new career.
