Can he still play like John Lynch could play?

No, that's the problem. I just read - I think it was MMQB - that many teams are concerned that the surgery he had in January will prevent him from being the hard hitter he used to be. I just hope for Denver's sake they didn't give him a bucket full o' cash.

Speaking of the Broncos...where'd TroyF run off to? I haven't seen him around in awhile, and I don't even remember him posting about the Portis deal, either.

Hrm...

Sapp and Lynch join opposite sides of a heated rivalry... As a raider fan, I think it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

TroyF did remark on the Portis deal when he surfaced for air once in the past couple months, but I think he's been gone again since then.

Good signing. I would be happy to see my Niners pick up a guy like Lynch, so a bit w00t for the Broncs.

I know he's most certainly "expensive" for a player of his age, but he's certainly someone I had hoped the 49ers would make a run at.

With all the veteran releases we've had in recent weeks, an experienced veteran -bordeline Hall of Fame candidate in my opinion- would have been a great addition not only to the Safety position (playing alongside Tony Parrish since Zach Bronson is let go) but the overall team, because he would have provided leadership and guidance to all the youngsters the Niners are about to have in 2004.

I knew they wouldn't make that move, but I sure hoped they would have.

And as a result, the Jets, who were also actively pursuing Lynch, went to plan B and got Reggie Tongue, formerly with the Seahawks and Chiefs.

Came at a much cheaper price, a four-year, $5.36 million deal vs a three-year, $ 9 million contract for Lynch.

Probably not a bad deal for the Jets.

Monday Morning QB - Peter King. I was just too lazy to type all of that out.

Well, I've never been a big fan of John Lynch or the Broncos, so... a good fit in my opinion.
