OT: US and Iraqi forces defeat militia surprise attacks.

US and Iraqi forces defeat surprise attack by rogue cleric malitia.

US and Iraqi forces worked together to fight off coordinated attacks today on police stations and government buildings in Sadr City, an attempt to destabilize the coalition efforts to bring peace and security to the region. Their surpise assault was thwarted after brave fighting from U.S. Marines and Iraqi police. 7 U.S. Marines lost their lives and 24 were injured. 2 coaltion soldiers and at least 20 Iraqi's were killed in the fighting.

I am sure NoMyths will find a story in a few days that says "Reports indicate Militia was really a red cross van. Four thousand donuts were destroyed."

Actually, don't trust me. I intentionally sorted the news from positive news to negative news. The FoxNews article is practically identical to the CNN article, even with regards to the headline.

My headline reads, "US and Iraqi forces defeat militia surprise attacks"

CNN's reads, "Seven U.S. soldiers die in Baghdad fighting."

FoxNews reads, "Seven U.S. Soldiers Killed in Baghdad Fighting"

Yahoo! Headlines reads, "10 U.S. troops killed in Iraqi violence"

ABC News reads, "10 U.S. troops killed in Iraqi violence"

BBC News reads, "Shias 'kill US troops in Baghdad'"

NBC News reads, "8 U.S. troops killed"

Dola (EDIT: actually, this is not a dola), I guess we know which headline won't make the most money in terms of sales...

Dutch - You can't possibly be serious in that you don't see one sensationalized headline out of that list..

No it's not, it's not even close. All of the others are close except the Fox one.

Chubby, this is the miscommunication of message boards showing it's ugly head.

"my headline" refers to the headline I, Dutch, simply made up based on the positive information in the article.
