Pretty nice place you guys got here...

I found this place because of the link to the OOTP preview from the OOTP Development boards. But after hanging out here in general discussion, it seems like there's a good community here, with little flaming, and lots 'o constructive conversation.

Good deal.

Do we really have to advertise that thread? Can't we all just wipe it from our collective memories?

Oh yeah, welcome!

I'm a fan of the VBulletin style, by the way. I've been at BaseballSimCentral for a couple years now, and I think its the best messageboard format out there.

There will be no trout insertion :o

After visiting the OOTPD and .400 boards looking to expand my gossip knowledge, I have switched my opinion to "I am glad we don't have avatars" I don't know if sigs are limited in length here or not, but I am real glad that we don't have a lot of people with sigs that take 1/2 a page (especially when they often post one line). That is way too much space/bandwidth overhead.

Considering that he has about 15 other inside jokes to decipher in this thread alone, I'd say dola is going to be pretty far down the list.

It has begun already.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=dola&f=1
Definition 1:
dola
no votes

The act of posting two or more times in a row.

There goes JeeberD with another dola post.

Definition 2:
dola
no votes

Its origin lies in internet message boards. The term "dola" means to flagrantly post multiple times in a row (or even reply to your own message). It is widely believed that the intent of these "dola" posts is not to add any content to the subject of discussion, but instead to inflate the post count of the person posting the repeated messages. The term dola is not used in the actual action, but instead refers to the action itself.

(first message) Did you see that game last night? (very next message) Last night's game was the bomb! (very next message) So, did anyone watch or am I all alone here?

Inside jokes are the lifeblood of a messageboard. It comes with the priviledge of being around for awhile

All messageboards have their inner loop.

That said, what the hell is the true meaning of "dola?"

Did we mention how people who ask questions answered already in the same thread are beaten senseless. Actually, they are given the choice of that or multiple viewings of the SkyDog patriotic panties picture. Most opt for the beating.
