Noobie Training HT question

Sorry to ask so simple a question about HT, and Im sure its been asked before. What I have heard, is that a player can not gain training experience for more then one game a week. Meaning, if say I train Keepers, playing one Keeper for my league game and friendly is pointless because he only benefits from one a week. Is this correct? I assume if it is correct, and I train Keepers, I should then change keepers between my friendly/league game?

Just looking for the clarification. Thanks for your time!

you are correct. players are only trained in the last position played that week. so if you train keepers, you should be training 2 players.

However if you don't train keepers (like me) and want to boost is experience, you can play him in both Cup & League games.

Instead of making another noobie related thread, I think I'll ask one more dumb question for the day on this thread I already started heh.

Spokes Persons:

Whats a good number? I know as a managment game there is no "right" number, but wheres a good place to be at? Example being people 'can' have 20 coaches if they want, however it hurts instead of helps. 9 and 1 is the 'good' number.

So how many spokes people? And are they bad to get to early?

Just curious for the input, thanks!

if you can afford it, go for 10 spokespersons. if you cant afford it, just get as many as you can afford. they pay for themselves in the long run in sponsor money and number of new supporters gained each week.

also you can not hire more than 10 in any one area, if you do it will hurt your team, you might lose training or money...I am not sure what the negative effects are for each. As an example here is my staff

Goaltending Coaches: 2
Assistant Coaches: 8
Sport Psychologists: 1
Spokepersons: 10
Economists: 0
Physiotherapists: 10
Doctors: 0

do not go over 10 coaches, most people go with the 8-2...if you are training keeper you might go wit 8 keeper coaches, 2 assisstants...or 7-3, I am not sure what is best for keeper training.

Hmm I see. Could you explain to me the theory between 2 goal tending coaches and 8 assistant coaches? I was once told that the only skills that raise are the ones that you are set to train right now. For instance if you are training Keepers, you would only want Keeper Coaches. Or if you are training anything else, like in your case Playmaking or whatnot, then you would have no need for goal keeping coaches...

Is there training benefit for other skills then you have set to train?

i always say the same thing to noobs looking for advice, b/c this is what i would do if i were to start over. Get yourself a 17 yr old keeper, preferably from your country, and train him until he is 21-22. Basically, make him an uber keeper, 6+ stars. Get a passable backup, train him to outstanding, sell, repeat. When keeper no.1 is around 20 or so, get a 17 yr old backup and train him until your no.1 keeper gets to the level you want, allowing your backup to get even higher than outstanding. Sell the backup, and use that money to buy trainnees in another area, and stick with it from then on. That way, you will have a fantastic keeper which will really boost your defensive ratings and keep you into games, and you won't have to worry about him for 8 seasons or so after you stop training him. By the time he is done for you, you'll be able to buy a keeper instead of training one.

Coaches also help maintain a players form. If you had no goaltending coaches, you keepers would likely have inadequate or lower form.

The 2 goaltending coaches help hold the form of the goalies...And vice versa with the other assisstants...
From the rules:
Goalkeeping coach - Improves your goalkeeper form, and goalkeeping skills.
Assistant coach - Same effect as if you had a more skilled coach, meaning your outfield players' form improves and they get more out of training sessions.

There is a link to this board under 'Communities' in HT.

Stupid Question #345: What is it that you look for to select a coach? Is it just experience? And also, how can I search the transfer list for just coaches?

Basically, you want a guy with solid or better experience and inadequate or better leadership. The experience is so you can turn him into a solid coach (the higher it is, the cheaper he'll be to turn into a coach). The leadership is for team spirit -- for turning a player into a coach, leadership needs to be better than weak for it to be cheaper than doing the "external recruit" where you pick coach skill and leadership and are provided with a new coach.

You can search the transfer list based on experience to find coaching candidates.

That was one of the things on my wishlist, the experience filter on the transfer page, and I didn't even realize it was there ! How long has it been there ?

I feel really stoopid right now...:o

another thing though- to go out and buy a player, and eventually make him into a coach, he needs to be on your team for atleast one season. So you probably want to just external recruit one the first time.
