irish u20 info

just an fyi, i was reading the Irish Hattrick Boards (yes i have no life)
and apparentlyt here was a problem with the old u20 manager so they elected a new one for the remaining 6-7 weeks. he won the election on the platform that the u20 irish team will only add new players that are trained by Irish teams. its a big mess and funny arguement, but i thought i would let you guys know on here. come week 1 youth pull time, you might want to reconsider buying any excellent pulls from ireland. because they wont add them to the u20 team no matter how good they are (supposedly).

i see both sides of this argument, but personally i think this is a very poor move. it hurts both the u20 team by not playing the best possible players, and hurts the nation team, because the best players of irish descent might not have the experience levels they would have gained by playing u20.

The runner up of the elections (tied with the same votes as the winner) was against this proposal.

And, yes, I have no life. But at least, I do not read Irish Conf, I read Global Conf instead.

An interesting proposal, saintjo. And thanks for the info.

Most likely, however, this person won't be the coach by the time next year's 17 y/o's are old enough to play on the U20.

In fact, it might make them cheaper to buy if you are willing to take that chance.

Ha, I never noticed that global conference until you said that, thanks

I was just checking up on my ancestors, and since there are no native american leagues, irish is the only other heritage that i am certain of in my family

it also hurts the irish owners since they won't get the cash, perhaps...
