Government pot is too weak, claims Canadians
Pot Smoker: Government Weed Stinks
Pro pot activist Philippe Lucas says nearly a third of patients have returned their government-supplied weed to Health Canada. Lucas says a high school student could grow better pot. He thinks the marijuana is weaker than the government claims. The marijuana is produced under a government contract in an abandoned mine. Lucas says it's impossible to roll into a joint and is nearly black in color. Lucas claims to have smoked the pot himself and says it's horrible. hxxp://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/news/43004-bb-pot.html |

All the Canadian weed I have smoked has been great. Leave it to the government to screw up all the good stuff.

Glad I don't smoke weed. Got better things to do then complain about the weakest of weed, like live life.

Sorry, I might put out a bad vibe. I'm not saying "my" way is the only way, whatever that means. I just find it funny people need to use a stimulate to get "happy" or "goofy". |

No problem, I have been testy lately because of real life. I am happy normally, but happy in a different way high. Kind of like happy well watching tv and happy well getting laid.

"The marijuana is produced under a government contract in an abandoned mine."
Is there a particular reason why Canada needs to keep its government contracts in an abandoned mine? Shouldn't they be in a filing cabinet in an office building somewhere?

I agree, but I don't know. To me, alcohol takes a while to "hit you". The purpose of smoking is to get high. While a small minority are alcoholics, it seems most people just drink socially. Its more a beverage. I don't know, its hard for me to explain. I have friends who smoke, and do I care? No. As long as you don't try to say its not bad, ect. and throw it in my face, then I don't give a crap. |

Most of my friends who started out on weed moved on to other things. Some got smart and got clean before they really screwed up their lives...some tried and couldn't...and some just didn't bother. One eventually got into distribution -- not a real good career choice in hindsight.

This is prolly the biggest reason why I am against legalizing marijuana. It seems to be a "beginning" drug. Does this mean everyone does? No. Like SFL CAT said, some smoke it once in a great while during college, then clean up and leave it behind after. Then you got those others. My friends right now in college, smokes often, does mushrooms, and other stuff. He's very defensive when anyone says it "bad". He's someone who I won't prolly be talking to after college (that and he has a very left-field mind of thinking). |

I could count on one hand the number of times I've smoked...meanwhile, my best friend smokes 5-6 days a week. We both been married 7+ years, I have two kids, he has three, and we both have good jobs where we are considered to be among the best in our companies.
I've never felt the need to do it because I enjoy relaxing with alcohol...he smokes because he doesn't like to drink alcohol. Do I think less of him because his recreational substance is marijuana? No. Does he think less of me because my recreational substance is alcohol? No. In my opinion, it's all the same... |

These days, I only drink wine on occasion, and sometimes on a really hot South Florida day, I'll pop open a cold beer.
I stayed away from the pot, though. Never tried it. The stuff scared the hell out of me for some reason. Maybe I was just subconsciously scared of getting busted with the stuff and my folks finding out about it, but I never had the desire to experiment with it...I always left parties pretty soon after the joints starting getting lit. Of course, I never had the desire to smoke cigarettes either; perhaps the two are related somehow. I do think pot can be a starter drug that leads to more destructive habits, I've seen it happen to too many people I know not to think so. But then, I also know a lot of people who can't control themselves with alcohol, cigarettes or gambling. I certainly wouldn't want my kids experimenting with it, and I have a lot of ex-stoner friends who are parents now that feel the same way. |

I don't smoke cigarettes. I don't drink because it made me very mean. I don't do crack because it ruins your smile. I hate needles, so that gets rid of herion. I once snorted fun dip and refuse to do that again, so their goes meth and coke. I don't want to smoke tinfoil. It just looks funny. Their goes more meth. Prescription drugs just seemed wrong. Mushrooms scare me but open up things in me that allow me to write. I can rarely do them, but sometimes do to rid the thing in me that makes me want to write. X is great. I have done it only a handful of times but honestly believe the government fucked up bad on this one. The benifits of what it can do far out weigh the negatives when it is pure. The things it allows you to say that you are scared of saying can truly help people. It is the only drug I can say I have ever taken that has had no negative side effect at all. No one. Weed is for sanity. Weed levels me out. I do it a couple times a week at most. I haven't done it for two weeks because I am looking for a new job. I don't miss it, but will keep doing it because it makes my life easier.

If I did do this or that, I'm not so sure I'd explicitly say so on a public forum, but anyway.

All government studies on it used large amounts of meth and injected it into monkeys. Their brains fell apart. European scientists have yet to find long term side effects, but most have come to the conclusion that MDMA has limited side effects. Almost none after not using it for 2 months. X on the street is dangerous, often cut with PCP, meth or herion.

[quote=BishopMVP]And the purpose of drinking is to get drunk. The people I know don't do it for the taste.

A difference between alcohol and weed is that one is a depression, and the other is a stimulate. All to its own. I drink every once in a while, but I never like being out of control and depressed (which I usually am if I get drunk, and I stop that after two times of being it). Just curious though, what age "range" are we talking about? |

I've never used illegal drugs, prescription drugs other than vicadin once, drunk more than 3 sips of alchohol (not like you can say no on passover) or smoked a cigarette. I may be addicted to pepto bismal though j/k
. I suppose it has a lot to do with experiences. I see how people change when they are under the influence and I decided long ago that I didn't want to be involved with that. I am weird enough without the influence of a narcotic. Personally from my experiences, alchohol can be a far worse drug then weed. I dont like the taste of alchohol at all and I cant stand smoke, even incense, so i was never tempted to do those things. Some people can be successful and regulate their intake of pot or alchohol and some can not. I'm not willing to take that chance. Now, it was my choice to live my life a certain way and every other person should be given that same choice. Most of all though, I want to do everything I can to make sure I never, ever, have to toss a salad. |

I was doing some research for a paper in American Politics (ironically, how to secure passage of a bill that would give money to organizations that try to crack down on drinking and illicit drug use on and around campuses) and I came across this statistic.

i like pot, i smoke it all the time. i like hash, that's just stronger pot (although in Amsterdam the hash is kind of a letdown because the pot is SO GOOD!!)
I like shrooms and acid because they open me up to places of the universe that are normally hidden from us. I don't take them very often, although there have been times in my past where I have. I've had unbelievable spiritual experiences, especially with shrooms, which are a product of nature (or possibly a gift from aliens, i haven't decided yet)... I've seen, talked to, and touched god... and I've been enlightened and completely understand the meaning of life and all that surrounds it... now i just get to experience it. it's more than just taking a drug to "get high", it's about getting in touch with the universe and understanding the nature of being. never done heroin, but i love smoking opium, but am glad that stuff is hard to come by, because it sure does get addicting after a few days of smoking.... coke i've done a few times, i guess i understand why people enjoy it, but the negatives outweigh the positives on that one... xanax and other happy pills usually just put me to sleep... i enjoy muscle relaxers and painkillers but try to limit my intake to when i'm actually in pain. inhalants are disgusting, i had friends in school that would huff scotchguard, freon, gasoline..... ugh.... i have had some fun with nitrous though.... and not just in the dentists' office. i'm also not paranoid and don't live in fear and certainly have no problem with sharing details of my drug experiences on a message board.
