FOFC Cup VI group breakdowns and picks

Group A

Its looks like 2 teams might advance out of this group. Bees will most likely win this group, if they manage to win their next game. Aviators should secure an at large bid with a win next week as well.

Group B

Even the 4th place team has a shot of winning this group still. The southpark cows could defeat the first place team this week, however they would need poor showings from the second and third place team to have a shot at advancing.

Group C

Midwest is a lock in this group. Cerio's plays the last palce team in week 5, and this gives him a very good shot at advancing, since he has a nice Goal Difference.

Group D

Galesburg is in the drivers seat, and has the lock on first place. Calibiri needs to win big this week to boost his DIFF if he wants to have any shot at making the cut.

Group E

Misfitz are not a lock in this group, they would need to defeat the Purple pirates to guarantee a spot at the top. The Purple pirates need a win, and a loss by the seamen or better goal differential for them to win the group. Both seaman and Pirates have low DIff so they need huge wins this week to have a shot at advancing otherwise.

Group F

Mokan Mighty bastards will need a win to win this group. Otherwise the Saint Louis Imperfect Assembly, will snatch the group away. If Mokan loses, he can only hope his DIFF is great enough to grab one of the at large spots.

Group G

First coast conquistadors is guaranteed another win. They are the first team to post a 5-0 record in the cup so far, and have a lock on this group. The bearcast control their own destiny in this group, and could advance with a big win this week.

Group H

Booger Ballers has a lock on the Group H. Fockers can only hope for a big win and some luck to make the cut.

Group I

Square Pegs has a lock on this group and is the only team that will advance.

Group J

The Deacons are a lock for this group, and are the only team that will advance

HOLY COW!!

#47 Seed First Coast goes 5-0 in Group G and is moving onto Round II. Our first Cup appearance since the inaugural one in which we went 0-4-1 in Group Play.

Anything can happen baby...

By the way, let me bring this issue up. How will seeding work come Round II? Will it go strictly by original overall seedings? If I may put my $0.02 in, I feel that the top 10 seeds of the 16 that move on should go to the 10 Group Winners, with the 6 Wild-Cards being seeded 11-16. At this point we could either go by original overall seedings or possibly by points earned in Group Play and then Goal Differentials as a Tiebreaker.

Any thoughts on this?

MK: you hit it pretty close.

1-10 seeds are the winners of the groups. 11-16 is the wildacards and goes by best records. The 1-10 seeds will be determined by the same method that 11-16 are determined. WInning your goup means you will be seeded no less than number 10 and play a team no lower than the 7 seeded team.

Teams will not be reseeded after each round. If you know that number 1 seeded team off, you wont have to play the nubmer 2 seed in the next round.

The wildcards will be determined by the same thing that determines the winners of each group

1. Points
2. Head to head
3. Goal Diff
4. Goals Scored
5. Seed

In the event of a three way tie head to head will only be used if a clear winner can be resolved. This has happened in a few groups, and it forces me to move on down the list.

The over-looked, get-no-respect, Maulers push through to the Championship bracket.
