Bob Brenly is a bitch
Julio Franco just hit a pinch hit, 2-run home run to tie the game, and Brenly comes out to argue that the pine tar is too high on Franco's bat.
Brenly is the biggest little bitch in baseball. |

Agreed. I remember in '99 when Ben Davis broke up Curt Schilling's no-hit bid with a bunt late in the game and he called it "chicken shit"...oh wait, that was chicken shit but still he is a whiny bitch.

Yeah, I have been on the fence on that for a while. I actually think Davis has the right to get on base however he can, esp. in a close game. Another reason is that seems to be the best way for me to get on.

Haven't we been over this already? ![]() The object of baseball is to win. The score of that game was 2-0 at the time, entirely within winnable range. I certainly don't blame Davis for laying down a bunt to get on base agaiunst a pitcher that is proving difficult to hit straight up. And Bob Brenly is a little bitch. Even when his team was winning a world championship, I thought he was the worst manager in baseball. Still do. CR

Although, I will say that the Fox Sports SOuth announcers are horrid... I'm glad they feel they can be biased, but don't go apeshit when Franco hits a home run.
That and their completely retarded. |

if they can't see it, how can they tell you what happened? And yes, it did stand. Brenly went out there, bitched. The umps talked for a minute, brought the bat to Franco and told him to lower the tar. He asked if he could just wipe it down, and they said yes, and that it was no penalty. |

It was obviously nothing, since the AP writeup doesn't even mention that Brenly protested. AZ won in the 11th, anyway. If something "newsworthy" had happened, I'm sure ESPN would have put it on the front page.

That was the whiniest bitchiest thing he's ever done. Why are no-hitters and perfect games impressive? Because the assumption is that your opponent is doing everything he can to get a hit or get on base. But when a pitcher has one going through the 7th inning all of a sudden the opponent is supposed to stop trying everything they can? And let the infield cheat and play deeper than normal? Ridiculous. The feat wouldn't be as impressive if that's the way it was.

I believe in the Brett ruling they determined that Pine-Tar had no effect on the distance of the ball and ruled against the Yankees (in the end).
But Brenly's bitch ass still brought it up? |

Being the rule was put in place because a cheap owner got the rule put in place because he thought that pine tar was ruining too many BP balls and not because it was too much of an advantage to the hitter, that ruling sounds about right. Last edited by mckerney : 04-19-2005 at 01:58 AM. |
