This move occurred at 10:30 EST, so the east coast doesn't care.

Well, I understand the Warriors suck, so it probably won't matter much for them. But its a big loss for Stanford. Mike Montgomery has been one of the most underrated coaches in NCAA basketball. 16 post season appearances in 18 years as head coach. 10 straight seasons with over 20 wins. 25 winning seasons in 26 years at Stanford and Montana. 12 seasons in the NCAA tourney. 4 time Pac-10 coach of the year. Won the Naismith coach of the year award in 2000 and has guided Stanford to a NCAA Final Four appearance. Doing all this at Stanford is really impressive since Stanford has such a limited pool of recruits because of its high acedemic standards.

Lol. I highly doubt it, plus this is the Warriors. The team who hasn't made a playoff in 10 years.

Wow

He's gonna fail in the NBA. He coaches highly disciplined players at Stanford while being under the close eye of the academic higher ups there. PJ part 2!

That being said

I doubt he leaves, but his cycle of Collins/Jacobsen/Childress is running out. He hasnt had good recruiting classes the past 2 years.

Even though its not going to work. Its a good move by Chris Mullin, it was time to bring some shock value. It shows the Mullin is what St. Jean was not, bold. I'm excited that Mullin is the new head guy in town. He was the one behind the Jamison trade.

I liked Musselman too, but Mullin didn't like him. Too much of a St. Jean product. Mullin needed to put his own stamp on the team.

Didn't he just sign a fat new contract with the Wolf Pack? Not that that really means much in this day and age...
