OT -- PTI: The Sitcom?
from an article about the new shows coming to CBS this fall
http://www.accessatlanta.com/news/co...504/20cbs.html "Listen Up," which will join the network's Monday-night comedy block at 8:30 p.m., stars "Seinfeld's" Jason Alexander and Malcolm-Jamal Warner ("The Cosby Show") and is based on the life of Washington Post sports columnist Tony Kornheiser. "Center of the Universe," which will follow "The King of Queens" on Wednesdays, features John Goodman ("Roseanne"), Jean Smart ("Frasier") and Ed Asner. Okay, I'm wondering if I'm the only person who thinks this has high potential to be incredibly tedious? And has slightly less chance of being a hit than a show about a bachelor-poker-player-stranded-on-a-desert-island. |

.... well it could be interesting as well. Jason Alexander as Tony Kornheiser? Well he did a good Larry David
. Wonder if he'll play it like George Costanza .

I've been following this for at least a year, from concept to pilot, to green-lighting. As a huge Tony Kornheiser fan, I hope it works. But it likely won't, so I'll have my VCR ready.

I enjoyed Tony on the radio and on PTI. I also like Jason Alexander as an actor, so I hope it is a good show. Although the last sports show, Sports Night (I think?), which was a good show didn't last long enough

I think it would work better if he plays it like Duckman... ![]()

I wonder if they'll have any flashbacks to Tony's friendship with Harry Chapin.

This will be a complete and total flop. It is a very good idea, but will probably fall way short of it's mark if it is based on Kornheiser's real life. Nothing over the top, nothing completely embarrassing, just some cute little side stories thrown together from Kornheiser's life that don't embarrass anyone.
Would of been better to use the concept of a PTI show and invented brand new characters. BTW- I would like to add that Jason Alexander will never, ever be a lead actor in anything successful, did they learn nothing from George Wendt?

Hm... the actors in Sports Night versus whoever is going to be in this. I'm guessing that's not even close to a fair fight. SI
