Shameless Miller Pimping Thread

Yes, yes, this is a shameless advert that is also in the formidable+ transfer thread. It also trumpets in the end of my keeper training program, and signals the beginning of a new era for the Aves.

It's Miller Time!!!
This is the guy that can carry your defense for the next decade. He's American, should exp pop any time now, he's got the semi-clown thing happening, has a not useless Inad SP, and by all reports is quite the lady's man. . .

Clyde Miller (12376558)
21 years, passable form, healthy
I speak US English!

A popular guy who is tranquil and honest.
Has wretched experience and passable leadership abilities.

Nationality: USA
Assessed value: 4 882 000 US$
Wage: 17 100 US$/week
Owner: Aviators
Warnings: 0

Stamina: poor Goaltending: titanic
Playmaking: disastrous Passing: disastrous
Winger: disastrous Defending: disastrous
Scoring: disastrous Set Pieces: inadequate

Career Goals: 0
Career Hattricks: 0
League goals this season: 0
Cup goals this season: 0

Transfer list: Keeper

Deadline: 5/31/2004 at 19.42

Asking price: 9 000 000 US$

I'm going to train my other keeper one more week, just to get him to Titanic as well, then it's off to the market for me.

At this point, I'm still strongly leaning towards winger training. The plan was/is to buy a couple outstanding/brilliant PM's with passable+ passing/wing. I'd play them as IM's during league matches, then swing them out to the wings on friendly/cup days. I'd have 2 other "true" wingers, say formidable PM w. passable wing/passing to play the wings on league days.

The plan also includes picking up some formidable defenders with passable+ wing to get 1/2 training, but also serve as long term defensive upgrades.

The big downside that I see, is not being able to get American trainees, as my minimums are pretty restrictive. Also, the winger market seems volatile and not firmly entrenched into most HT'rs minds. Sale of my trainees could be an issue in the future.

Thoughts? Comments? Concerns?

Bid often and bid well!

Not sure how much better he is than my 20 yo American supernatural+ keeper that I ended up keeping after my keeper training was over

Yeah, apparently no love for Miller.

Had 2 guys keep telling me the past 4 weeks they were going to buy...so far, nada. One said he needed the income from his home match to do it, the other disappeared.

Had a trade offer that didn't move me at all. I really see no point in trades. I want the $$ to buy what I want, not what they want to push on me.

Not sure what to do. This guy may still come through, or he may not. I trained Miller this week, so he's Titanic+1. I don't really want to hang on to him for another 5 weeks to train him up to, geez, whatever is after Titanic.

The market seems pretty junk right now. Another Titanic didn't sell for $8.8M, and there's one up in Sverige now for $8M too. Thing is, at this salary level, getting a keeper from your home nation would be a very nice savings. I'd have thought there'd be more interest.

Don't know what to do. . .

Might be happy getting that soon. The GK market seemed to really crash at the end of the season lost money on two "trying out" keepers that would've been bargains a week earlier and just got a sn for less then 7mil US$

Good luck though. $10.10! my final offer!

I just did a little look-up for the fun of it. Now, the major draw, I think, is that he's American, so more desireable for an American team... 32 teams in the U.S. have the $8.8M or more to buy him This was supposed to be my cash cow, my ticket to switch training...so far, it's my ticket to frustration.

Lesson for everybody else here. Train past brilliant at your own peril.

I don't know I was happy with the 6.6+ mil I got for my world class keeper. Maybe the problem is that you are just asking too much. There is a keeper very like yours for sale in the US for almost 3/4 of a mil less and that one is younger (and despite not being American has the exact same wages for the moment) And some in Sweden for nearly a mil less that are values at almost half a mil more. But the main thing may be this guy:
