Euro 2004
Anybody know if/when there will be any coverage of Euro2004 in the United States?
Specifically, Comcast DC doesn't carry Fox Sports World (Network?), so my access is limited to ESPN. Anybody know if any of it will be carried either on ESPN or PPV? ~tk

PPV for a lot of money, or online at the euro2004 website for like $20. Its live video feeds, but it worked well for the NCAA basketball tourney, so if you have broadband, you are set.

Like Easy said, it's a lot of money. PPV is $180 for all matches and $20-25 for singles. Although there may be a pub nearby that shows them. I know of a few in my area that likely will. Last edited by Desnudo : 05-28-2004 at 10:19 PM. |

Really? Wow! Makes me feel good about my Fox Sports subscription ($35 for the month and all 31 matches and a 129 other channels).

I remember Euro 96 was on ESPN here, but 2000 was only on PPV as well. Sucks. |

I think most (all?) of the games will be broadcast on 3-day (24 hour?) delay on FSW.
If someone can confirm the details of this, I think I might just avoid the internet for a few weeks and watch everything on FSW.

I don't know what you're getting in the US but Fox Sports are certainly taking all matches live/delayed by one match time. I would be surprised if they're showing them in Australia but not the US (similar general interest/disinterest in soccer). It'll be a feast of soccer. Hope you guys get to watch it. It would do a world of good for the game there.

The broadcast rights in the U.S. were purchased by Sentata, which is a PPV and closed-circuit distributor of soccer here in the states. Neither Fox nor another broadcast outlet purchased the rights. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if FSW had them in 2008. |

Yea', but I heard that FSW can show them on some kind of delay (24 hours to 72 hours).

Yeah, its on a 72-hour delay, which is OK but a little different than seeing it live. |

That sucks! We don't really have ppv here - they tried it last season with Aussie Rules games but they dropped it this season and now all those games are free on Fox cable/sat tv. Hope it stays that way
