We're in the scheduling phase. The FINAL scheduling phase. And one of the reasons several teams declined tournies was.. it took up multiple games . If I install the patch now, there's a chance that folks will get random games and maybe games they didn't want.

I put a poll up in FOFC FBCB's board to determine what folks will do with it.

It won't really have an effect on that right now. It was counting two games when the team was added to the tourney and then the first round was scheduled. Both of those things have already happened once you are past the tourney period.

These two fixes (red highlights) are huge for me. Thanks, HR!

Do the buttons look different now or is it just me? I haven't played the game for a while.

Thanks for the patch! I'm thinking about getting back into the game in a month or so, and have been looking over my saved game from before.

I have a question for people regarding one aspect of the game. I was talking to a basketball coach the other day, and he said that for a bunch of reasons redshirting in college basketball is pretty rare.

I'm not sure if this issue has changed in FBCB, but when I was playing a while ago you could redshirt freely.

I was wondering, is the coach I talked to correct? Is college basketball redshirting that rare?

If so, I wonder if it might be something to address in a future patch.

Any thoughts?

Redshirting.. especially at the Top flite level.. is really rare.. because quite frankly.. your top level talent isn't going to stay for more then a year or two

Incredibly rare in Div I for players to redshirt. I would love to see players either threaten to transfer or go pro if redshirted. Frequent redshirting could also lower your recruiting ability. Redshirting is usually used for injuries and "project" players.

This is something that I would like to see change, but have been willing to abuse myself.

I don't know about incredibly rare. I'd tend to think it gets much more common as you look at the lower conferences though. Gonzaga has used them extensively in the past. At the upper levels it is more common when a player is recovering from an injury during his senior year of high school. With the schools I tend to follow, it seems like a lot of times it is up to the player. The coach will let the player know where they stand in terms of likely playing time and give them the option of redshirting.

This is something that I'll be adjusting in the future. Whether it is in a patch or a new version remains to be seen. It kind of goes with the option of having players transfer and player happiness in general.

Only the elite programs don't redshirt, mid level majors like BC have redshirt people quite often

Right, happens extremely rarely on the top end of college basketball. However, Wisconsin did redshirt their McD All-American Brian Butch last year so its not like it never occurs.

Interesting. Thanks for all the info.

Sounds like it's a bit more common than the coach I talked to portrayed it.

Golly, between OOTP, FOF, CM and FBCB I have to have a schedule for the games I play. Am I the only one that does this? Have one text sim to play every day in a rotation. Lovely work, HeavyReign I will continue to support your products for as long as I have the cash to do so.
