Red Mile

Man alive I was down there last night and it was absolutally crazy. I had to leave at 1030 and when I got home (20 kilometres away) I could still hear a dull roar from 17th ave. The craziest part is when the 20000 people from the saddledome come down to the mile and just start going nuts. Estimates say there were 60000 people down there. I can't even imagine what it will be like for game 6.

BTW for those who don't know:
Main Entry: ice hockey
Function: noun
: a game played on an ice rink by two teams of six players on skates whose object is to drive a puck into the opponents' goal with a hockey stick

and the red mile is acctually 2 miles of bars along 17th avenue in Calgary, which the police close off to traffic.
