What time does the Belmont start?
It looks as though any way you slice it, I'm going to be at work, but I'd like to be able to time my first 15 minute break for the start of the race.

What does that mean? Is that when they start loading the horses into the gate, or is that when the race is expected to actually start?
Sorry to be anal, but I'm only going to have 15 min. total for the break, I'd like to get it timed right if I can. ![]() |

Post time is 6:38 EST. That's when you can't place any more bets and the race is about to start

CBS Sportsline's front page has it as a 6:38 post time as well.

Even if 6:38 was when they start loading horses into the gate, it wouldn't be any more than 5 minutes from that point until the end of the race. Just time your break to start at 6:35 (well, 3:35 out in California), and you'll catch the whole thing.
